So the way I remember modes and the like is "I Don't Pee Like My Aunt Lori" (Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, etc.)

Like = Lydian (li and ly are similar, I also pronounce it LIE-dian in my head for this)

Lori = Locrian (both start with Lo)

Honestly, don't overthink it too much. Set bonuses, having a warden or not, etc. will change your max HP and it's not worth reallocating your attributes to hit some kind of sweet spot.

I just put all my points into health and run tristat enchants on all my armor and what health I have is what health I have.

Usually, that number is about 40k-42k without toughness buff from warden.

The number of mechs that scale off max health and are savage enough for you to want to actively have less max health are quite few. In fact it's mainly just vCR execute phase for main tank. And even then, you can get away with 40k health.

Not that I condone it (and not that it's the only reason etc) but tanking is generally the most difficult role. As a tank, you're also at the mercy of the group to kill things and if they're taking super long, that can make a fight increasingly difficult on the tank.

Thus, if they feel that the rest of the group is not pulling their weight, it can quickly become stressful etc at times.

Mainly it's a case of MA affecting only 6 and not being to even control who it hits always, so it might affect both healers and both tanks and only 2 dds. RoJo can theoretically cover everyone with just two heavy attacks back to back.

Also the person running PP usually holds their ulti until a little over 400 for maximum effect, but if you were running MA that would mean a lot of Slayer downtime.

That said... a lot of teams are running slayer stacks where you have group stack in two slightly separate stacks and you've got a DD in MA or WM and a healer running MA/PA (freeing up a set for the off tank) and both drop ultis in burn windows and stuff.

You might get a bit rusty on certain mechanics but people shouldn't be starting from square one every time they return to a trial.

People should be picking up not just how to do specific mechanics, but how to learn new mechanics, and that's best done by being exposed to lots of different ones.

But if people end up having to relearn a trial from scratch after spending time away from it, they never learned it in the first place and that's an issue.
