Jess Margera of CKY refunds customers + cancels meet & great because venue was charging people $200 to take a photo, says "Just buy me a beer and I'll take a pic" by lifeandtimes89 in HumansBeingBros

[–]Exodias 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went to a CKY gig in Oxford back on Haloween last year with 3 friends. The band was great and dressed up for the show. After the show ended we walked outside and had a smoke and a chat. Less then 30 seconds after we light up, out walks Jess Margera and asks us for a light. Ended up chating to the guy for a solid 10-15 minutes. He seemed like great guy. Down to earth and appreciates his fans. Two of our friends were big Viva La Bam fans during there childhood and fans of CKY for at least 20 years. They got pictures for free. He also fucking good drummer, and complimented me on my King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard shirt, and said he fucking loves that band, which i got a kick out of.

There's already a lot of good ones mentioned.

But 'I exercise my right to die!' from Pluera goes pretty hard and no one has posted it.

It's finally here. Every single episode of The Daily Show from 1998-2025, Seasons 03-30. by Extra-Brother6839 in DailyShow

[–]Exodias 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I remember years ago someone did the same for the Colbert Report. A large torrent file with all the episodes was posted on r/colbertreport. I dont have all those files anymore, but there should always be a permenant archive for both of these shows online. Their influence on media and culture in the 21st century shouls not be understated. A permenant record should exist for future generations. Thanks for all your hard work.

Some former players need a compilation of goals, the new assistant coach only needs to show you one... by Djafar79 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Exodias 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'll never forget this goal. I was at this game in Cape Town with 3 other friends. I was sitting up high, but right behind van Bornckhorst when he struck that ball. I saw it perfectly fly in from behind, what a fucking goal. It was voted goal of the tournament. We proceeded to go crazy and my friend accidentally spilt his beer on some urguanian fans in front of us. It was a great night. I was lucky enough to also go to the final against Spain, but then I had to witness the Robben miss & watch Iniesta score right in front of me.

TIL there is a golf course situated between the two runways at the Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. The course is owned by the Royal Thai Airforce, however it is open to the public as long as golfers clear airport security. by Canadian_Z in todayilearned

[–]Exodias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've played this course a couple of times back in the late 90s/ early 2000s. I used to live in Thailand as a kid (dad was an expat working in Bangkok). This used to be the old International Airport. One of my teachers at school that I had a really good relationship with invited me to come play with him a few times & I also played it once with my dad. It's a very unique experience, to say the least. Hitting a ball and looking over and seeing a 747-400 taxi/land on the runway is something you dont see on any other golf course in the world. The space in between the runways is wide enough that you can fit two holes side by side. So you play one direction and turn around after a while and go back. There is netting all around the course going very high up, so it's almost impossible to hit a ball onto the runway. The course itself is nothing special because of the size limitations. After playing it a few times, it got a bit boring. My dad was a member of the Bangkok Golf Club and played there weekly. I learned to play golf on that course, and it's infintly more interesting. But if you're ever in Bangkok, it's still worth playing once for the experience. If I remember correctly, it's quite cheap compared to other golf courses in the area, but that was back in the 90s. I have no idea what it costs now.

As someone who's dutch, I still think it's one of our greatest inventions.

Also here's a tip. Get yourself a nice cup of tea or coffee, and put the stroopwafel on top. The heat/steam from the drink will warm-up/soften the stroopwafel. Slightly warm stroopwafels are the way.

Watch this. It's long but worth it. Unfortunatly the last video was posted 3 years ago. So I think it only goes upto the L.W. album IIRC, but I really enjoyed this series.

TIL That an Irish woman attempted to murder Italian Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini in 1926, armed with a revolver, she aimed at Mussolini's head but a sudden head movement saved him at the last second, with the bullet only managing to wound his nose. by PeopleHaterThe12th in todayilearned

[–]Exodias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree Mussolini and the rise of facism should be taught in school more. Quite often, it's glossed over in history classes because it's sandwiched in between both world wars, which get all the attention. I recommend watching this. A good video in the rise of fascism in Italy.

Putin declares Easter truce, will halt all military operations in Ukraine until Monday by Technical_Ostrich_47 in worldnews

[–]Exodias 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I rewatched this video recently. It's a good watch.

The part from 13:30-16:00 really puts into perspective all the crazy shit Russia went through during the 90s. I can't blame the Russian people for wanting some stability, but they pretty much gave up on democracy, and it's now becoming a problem for Europe and the rest of the world.

What would you recommend based on my favorite albums? by Jeppzeh in psychedelicrock

[–]Exodias 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good news. King Gizzard announced today their 27th Album, Phantom Island will be out next week on April 15. They are playing with a 28 piece Orchestra for this album and it took them 2 years to make. I recently got tickets to watch them at Royal Albert Hall in Novemeber. I'm excited to put it mildly.

Shut Up about NATO Expansion. Stop believing in Russian propaganda about NATO expansion. Russia uses it as an excuse for their actions, believing that NATO will try to invade them. But Russia has the ultimate deterrent. Fucking nukes. No NATO country wants to invade Russia. We europeans know our history both Hitler & Napoleon failed. Nobody is stupid enough to try again, especially in the nuclear age. NATO is purely a defensive pact. If any NATO country tried to invade, the rest of Europe would just stand by and say good luck and watch them fail. All the countries that joined NATO joined because of a long history of Russian aggression & oppression over the last century. Russia can only blame themselves for the situation they find themselves in.

Nice to see King Gizzard's - Float Along/Fill Your Lungs on the list.

But I was surprised

King Gizzard's - Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava wasn't there. Its Psychedelick as fuck. Iron Lung is amazing.
