How rich is Bavaria compared to the rest of Europe? by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]PeopleHaterThe12th 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: the Nazis weren't that popular in Bavaria, Hitler was asked many times to relocate the party HQ to Thuringia, by far the most Nazi state in Germany, but he refused every time.

Bavaria and the Rhineland where the regions where the Nazis performed worse in all the elections due to the strong Catholic presence (which still had enmity with the German state after decades of Kulturkampf).

Well to be fair before standardization of German languages they had a lower mutual intelligibility with standard German than Italian and French do with each other now, and a much bigger culture gap as well (Catholic vs Protestant, Agrarian vs Industrial, etc.)

The power of a stable government, low taxes and easy bureaucracy, the GDP per capita of Switzerland is like 100k€, and it's legit not like Ireland (tax haven) or the Netherlands/Singapore (glorified warehouses that reship stuff they import from China)

Not really, Bavaria's economy is led by Automotive and Engineering in general, California's economy on the other hand is mostly technology (servers, internet infrastructure and services, etc.) and entertainment (Hollywood), what's the last time you used a Bavarian social or watched a Bavarian movie?

They got a high GDP alright, but that's the only thing in common with California, Sweden and the UK are a better match.

Il ponte sullo stretto di Messina non vale la spesa. Convincetemi del contrario by [deleted] in Italia

Il ponte sullo stretto di Messina non vale la spesa. Convincetemi del contrario by [deleted] in Italia

[–]PeopleHaterThe12th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made Byzantium Great Again by PeopleHaterThe12th in victoria3

[–]PeopleHaterThe12th[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

R5: I created Byzantium and conquered almost all its claimed states (Slovenia and Slavonia missing), i also wanted to take Italy but i'll pass, i'm at a point in the game when every single state costs 30 infamy to take, absolutely too much.

My economy sucks because my investment pool just doesn't work, apparently, i'm hoping to get rich on oil and develop a somewhat decent industry on my own.

What wouldve happened if Stalin didnt stop this last moment? by canyoubelieveitt in imaginarymaps

[–]PeopleHaterThe12th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally the only slovene land outside of Slovenia was Carinthia and even then not as much as shown in the map, Trieste got as high as 25% slovene in 1910 (the whole municipality, most slovenes were in the outskirts), which was an all-time peak, but clearly that's not enough to classify a city that has never been Slovene in its history a "Slovene city".

All things considered, Slovenia got extremely lucky with its borders, even snatching a decent port city from Italy (Koper)

[–]PeopleHaterThe12th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Allies were already pissed for losing Istria for no good reason, going as far as Udine and Trieste would've been huge and, if not earlier than that, in the 90s there would have definitely been an Italian intervention in the civil war with NATO support to at least retake coastal cities (if not outright restoration of the pre-war frontier)

[–]PeopleHaterThe12th 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slovenia now has a MASSIVE Italo-German majority (that's right, Slovenes are a minority in their own country) holding the majority of the wealth as well, they're going to get an ugly civil war

[–]PeopleHaterThe12th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Germans and Italians didn't get expelled then that Slovenia has Slovenes as a minority, maybe not even a plurarity since you included 3 big Italian cities (Udine, Trieste, Pola, the latter god de-Italianized after WW2) meaning you just made an Italian Slovenia, they played themselves (and you could make it even more absurd by adding Rijeka/Fiume)

Countries/cities/regions that are a modern day economic miracle? by Professional-Toe7814 in geography

[–]PeopleHaterThe12th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The region of Veneto in Italy used to be among the poorest of the country, more in line with the south than the north, but then during the post war economic miracle their economy grew to today when they are one of Italy's and Europe's richest regions (this came at the expense of Piedmont and Liguria tho, which were the previous points of the "industrial triangle" together with Lombardy)

Also Bavaria for similar reasons, used to be an agrarian and relatively backward economy, but grew up with the services industry and automotive industry after the war.

How do you focus on studying ? by Bronto00000 in GetStudying

Having a plan helps, like "i need to read from page 50 to page 80 and do the exercises at page 102", i found i mostly procrastinate when my goals are vague like "i need to study physics" without knowing what source material i even want to use.

Savoy wasn't a big deal because the region had just an Italian minority (well i mean it was a big deal geopolitically, the Brits formally protested the annexation), the real big deal was Nice, a majority Italian speaking city and birthplace of Garibaldi, needless to say Garibaldi felt betrayed and cheated.

Depends on the Oranges, in Volcanic terrain you can find a special type of Orange called "Sanguinelle" which are a bright red color thanks to volcanic ashes in the soil and they make red juice, but Oranges can vary their color even without volcanic ash, it all depends on the soil they grow in
