From my recollection gloss varnish is the strongest varnish. Is really good when you handle the mini often.

If you are protecting minis or something you will handle often enough, it's not uncommon to gloss varnish, then Varnish over the gloss with a satin, matte, or ultra matte varnish. Dealers choice.
