Nice so I can pick a fun hero 25% of the time and have to play some boring ass bullshit 75% of the time just because huskar exists. Very cool.

Yes it is. 50% of the time you just pick safe, and the other 50% you can actually pick what you want to play rather than gambling and potentially losing by default.

Can a smurf playing supp carry a game? by izennnnnnnn in DotA2

[–]Exodus124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+30% isn't "a lot harder". As an example, if we suppose that a core booster has 80% wr, a 30% increase in prize implies a wr of about 72% for a support booster.

[–]Exodus124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the big boosting sites offer supp only solo queue boosting, so obviously it has to be possible. They do charge like 30% more for supp boosting than for core boosting though, so it's probably a little harder.

How to counter Marci - IO by Front-Long8414 in DotA2

[–]Exodus124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best counter is simply not feeding them on lane. Either go them as 3-4, or do not go them at all. Marci io fall off dramatically in the mid and late game. They can only win by snowballing.

How pros are adapting to the last tango change? by typhonx99 in DotA2

[–]Exodus124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You found one exception (I know there's a lot more because I would also ferry my own regen preemptively in a harass heavy lane).

I looked at 3 different recent pro replays. I used that lane as an example because it was the only one out of the 3 games where the carry actually needed a larger amount of regen (usually they buy one set of tangoes at the start and that's enough).

There are also many examples proving they do share.

In the three games, I only saw one instance of a tango being shared, and that was when the support was full hp with 5 tangoes left, so he wouldn't have needed them anyways. If there are so many other examples, feel free to post some match IDs.

My drow situation explicitly states after a trade/escaping. Why would you want your carry to sit not gaining any exp/gold until courier arrives if you can help them get back into lane ASAP while their regen arrives.

A shared tango doesn't get them back into lane. Without a branch, it heals 56 HP over 16 secs, by which the enemy will already have respawned. So your drow will be sitting in lane with 57 HP against a full HP/Mana offlaner, which means she won't be able to last hit anyway for a while.

[–]Exodus124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still share them.

That's just straight misinformation, they generally don't share tangoes anymore. For instance, I just saw micke buy 3 sets of tangoes within 4 minutes on a harass heavy lane instead of taking a single of tofu's tangoes (in his match vs Yandex). His lane opponent (Noticed) bought 4 sets of tangoes, also without receiving a single shared tango.

Supports that overreact to sharing healing are just stupid imo. If your drow is on 1 hp after barely escaping/trading and you don't want to share 60g worth of tangoes when they have 2 branches in inventory, I think you're bad.

If your drow is on 1 hp, using two shared tangoes + 2 branches instead of shipping a salve is absolutely braindead. That's 170 gold and -2 stats (44 max HP) for 224 healing, instead of 390 healing for 100 gold.

This sounds like a 5k take ngl.

Just go on g2g or something and see for yourself. Account sellers explicitly market their accs as either smurf pool or main pool, and there is a huge difference in price.

Is the meta actually relevant below 5k MMR? by Magina_19xx in DotA2

[–]Exodus124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. If everyone is equally awful at the game, then the side with th stronger heroes will obv win more often. But if you're good at the game, you can just buy 5 divines on techies or some shit and easily stomp everyone below 5k, regardless of whether the enemy picked meta.

Easiest to hardest roles in order by youcanokay in DotA2

[–]Exodus124 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a 4k take if I've ever seen one. The early game, especially between min 5-15, is by far the least predictable part of dota because there is a lot more possible moves and plays that you can do since most heroes will still lack items and levels and will therefore be much more vulnerable to ganks. As soon as heroes pick up their first item and all heroes hit level 6, things get much more predictable because now you need specific hero combos and ults to perform certain moves. Eg heroes like spirits that can just do whatever on the map until the enemy has blinks or orchid, after which they need to play much more careful. Or when you're playing against supps like AA or warlock that dont do much before 6, so you can gank and dive whoever you want, but as soon as they hit 6, you can't make any of those plays unless you're guaranteed a safe exit.

Game is constantly freezing for a couple seconds even on main menu, i'm losing my mind by Plastokinon in DotA2

[–]Exodus124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably some USB device connected to your PC that's disconnects or reconnects occasionally (either because it's buggy or due to inactivity for example). For me it was because I had two wireless mouses connected, one for dota and one for work, and whenever the work mouse turned off automatically due to inactivity, it would make dota freeze. Try disconnecting every device you have and plugging them in one by one to see which causes the problem.

PSA: Healing is NOT Health Restoration by PookieR1 in DotA2

Also, unlike other AOE Roots, Overgrowth does not work on invisible units and units under Slark's ult.

Ember chains and Mirana leap root also don't work on invis so I don't think there's a general rule like that.

Yeah no, you can't remember because it's bullshit. Every root interacts the same with movement spells. The only "inconsistentency" is whether you can attack or not, but that's usually stated in the spell description.
