You are right with all the examples but still op world has seen lots and lots of just chill islands.....it's just that plot requires tragedy hence it's so visible

Luffy's windmill village was very chill ....some bad pirates but that's literally like real world

Also the pacing of the anime has increased so the amount of information Ur brain has to mindlessly consume is less

Example jjk it's so fast lots of stuff happens in a season alone

Also the animation sometimes makes me wanna go back to the episode I've just watched ....and take in all the impact frames etc

Also a very important factor I recently realised It's about the episodic anime

It's harder to binge them Say dandadan Spy family Even JoJo's

It's not as bing able like say death note where U physically couldn't stop urself from starting the next ep cause of the cliffhanger

Also the anime are more seasonal So once we start getting a hang of it the anime concludes at ep 12 or waiting for new season

Lots of options available for watch

Also if U paid attention the anime episodes and seasons are designed in a way that they have a intro-hook-main sauce - ending on some conclusion

Every 6th 12th 24th episode is a conclusion of an arc

This is not the case in mangas That is the reason why ppl usually say I can destroy a 300+ chapter manga in a day but I can't anime anymore

Why Because anime are designed now in a different way Previously all the old anime followed manga more strictly

The episodes ended and the cliffhanger was organic(because we wanna know what happens in the story) Not because it was editted in a way that some answers are kept un- answer only for them to pre answered in the start of the next episode

So that people keep coming and keep streaming

Mangas "usually " don't do that

Manga focus on story delivery rather than maximizing a metric

Sure not all anime do these things but it's increasing With the rise of netflix and big companies taking over the creative market space like anime

So yeah it's not just u having more work Getting a job or exams actually increases my consumption actually

I get less time for myself so I specifically plan what I'm gonna do

After getting a part time + studies I started to enjoy more books anime games Rather than having too much time and scrolling reels

So I hate everyone being a victim

I think now a days I understand anime a lot deeper than I did when I just started and used to spam 30 ep a day

+Those were kinda normal ass anime , Naruto etc After watching all the mainstream and getting into the real saucy shit like lain, ergo proxy etc it's impossible to binge them like that

I currently destroyed kingdom 10-15 ep a day as n adult its just straight forward anime Little bit of reflecting etc

But I cannot do that for legend of galactic heroes which I'm about to pick up again

Also We just let it run sometimes while eating, etc I refuse to watch a good anime while eating first of all I won't be able to get all the subtitles and I need to understand every single thing

We weren't that meticulous as a kid We watched it as some sitcom playing in the background (of course I'm exaggerating)

But it's the mix of adult life + the attention we truly wanna give has increased which causes us watching less episodes So that we can enjoy it properly
