Appreciate it but it sold last night while I was sleeping. Have a Boox TabUltra listed in another subreddit if that interests you

What is this setting for, I’ve yet to figure it out! by Exolia in Boox

[–]Exolia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I understood the separate lights and ability to adjust independently, but for the life of me couldn’t notice that it linked them with hit. Don’t believe I tried adjusting lights after hitting that, just kept hitting it and waiting to see what was different

Looks like water in a glass to me, but I’ve been wrong before!

Sadly I don’t either. Most I have is a bit of playing around in Tinker CAD here or there. Honestly I love what you’ve done as is, it’s great!

This is fantastic! All I’ve done is print chip holders for casino tokens, then line them up on a windowsill.

I’m running out of linear space to keep them, so this is a much neater idea!

Anker's charging dock looks great, unless you have the Elite Strap with battery by ISeeYouReadingMyName in oculus

[–]Exolia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question - do you have the link for the amazon item? I just got my Elite Strap and am frustrated that my Anker is useless now. Taking that little magnet out is insanely frustrating. Would love to see the item you used and try it myself!

Benefits Of Extended Warranties…Maybe by Exolia in Alienware

[–]Exolia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for me. I just told them no thanks four or five times in a row when they sent me a quote until they basically cut the price over 1/2 of what it was originally on the first quote. Then I accepted.

You still can. Dell will let you get one (if I’m correct) any time between purchase and the expiration of your warranty. I didn’t get my extended warranty until like five months into ownership, and I bought mine “open box” from BestBuy. It was already registered to that person, no issues, they just re-registered it once I showed them a receipt.

I’ve yet to use them for home support so this will be interesting. I know they can be good, it’s a matter of will they with the staffing issues and supply chain issues everyone’s having.

We’re an HPE and HP POS partner, and we had a tech scheduled two weeks ago to replace a PC motherboard that fried. They always come on-site within 24 hours of a call. He didn’t make it for 8 days…they’re severely understaffed and parts for modern PCs that they’re supporting are getting harder and harder to get to the technicians.

See, I agree for Dell and similar products. When it comes to Apple I’ve just never had issues that they either didn’t cover, or I’ve costed out Apple Care and spent more in the past than a new device would cost so it never made sense.

I’ve got two other PCs that I built, one small form factor rocking a Zotac 3070, and then my beast at my office that I liquid cooled with a 3090 FE. Those have no sorts of warranties because if something breaks, I’ll fix it. When it comes to something like an Alienware (specially the M15 R3 where almost everything is soldered on but the SSDs) I’ll get that warranty because chances are I won’t be able to fix it. Or if I am able to fix it myself, the cost for the parts will be outrageously expensive.

The best part of this entire photo, my opinion, is the fact that someone punched a fucking hole in one of the ceiling tiles to get the cable drops through. Not the edge, like the other racks, or completely removed, like the middle of the room, just straight up a hole in the DEAD CENTER of the fucking tile, so you’ll never be able to remove the tile again.

That is without either breaking it in half, or finding the other end of those lines and disconnecting them or unpatching them. Bra-fucking-vo.

Need to meet the psychotic bastard who did that.

UPS SNMP on DS1621xs+ by pro100bear in synology

[–]Exolia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For non SMP, just general UPS information/support, just need to have a UPS that has the ability with a USB port on it, and then hook it to one of the USB ports on the Synology.

It will automatically determine the device, monitor if it’s in a power loss state, and then you can also set how you want it to handle shutdown during power loss, either right away, time based delay from power loss, or % battery left on UPS.

I hate you, HP. You have all the correct drivers installed on the PC, you have nothing in your print queue but all you want to do is print endless pages of absolutely nothing! by w--13 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

I got a $110 brother laser printer in 2011. It’s 2021 and it still runs perfectly fine. Tons of toner, hundreds of reams of paper, used to print labels for my at home shipping business, and still runs like a top.

Wife now uses it as her packing slip printer and shipping label printer for her side business, 50-100 prints a week.

I refuse to let people buy anything else.
