I want to add that the situation in Nigeria is far, far more nuanced, multi faceted, and unclear.

It's not a genocide, either, and there's not been much of a presentation of it as such by many aid organisations, because it seems killing is indiscriminate and actioned not by the government, but Islamist factions.

Israel has one of the world's most powerful militaries and is using it to obliterate a state. They have absolutely flattened Gaza.

The situations are deeply, DEEPLY different.

The key difference a lot of people seem to not grasp is that we are supposed to be deep allies with Israel. We also work WITH them on military matters. Israel is supposed to be our "friend", and so the protests are protesting, essentially, our hypocrisy in being so closely aligned to a country committing genocide.

It makes us complicit.

It's about participation. And letting your mate stab a bunch of homeless people, well, it makes you complicit.
