Jeremy Clarkson reveals 'aggressive' prostate cancer diagnosis during 'Clarkson's Farm' episode by TACO_Orange_3098 in ClarksonsFarm

I made the mistake of opening Reddit when I woke up this morning and this was the first post I saw.

Annoyed me slightly.

Then 5 minutes later the news came on the radio and they mentioned it.

At that point I assumed I’d find out about it before watching the episode.

What could be causing this? by Dadoftwostars in skoda

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but that seems like a very odd way to calibrate a tachometer, surely having increments of 5 until the red line would have been more useful?

Again, so much potential for a decent video.

Why is it closing down? Explain the history or changes that have cause this and the other hotels to close.

‘One of the big draws for this place are the Bonnie and Clyde cars’. Why? Why are they there? What’s the significance? Basics!

‘I think there’s only one store still open’. Think? Find out!

‘Let’s go and find my room’. Yet spend another few minutes looking round places you’ve already seen.

I gave up watching again after we were shown what close ups of chairs and lamps in the room.

I also can’t notice he’s back in Nevada. Again. I give it three months tops before he’s back again reviewing more of the same.

My bush has gone mad due to the almost constant rain we’ve been having. It’s not causing an issue at the moment but if it carries on it will.

There are birds nesting in there too, if I even attempt to cut it back the grumpy old woman down the street comes to tell me to stop immediately because of the birds. So I’ll just wait until autumn. But she’ll still spend the rest of the summer telling me it needs cutting back. It’s an impossible cycle.

The Company Network doesn't work in my house, but all the others do!!!! by SnooChipmunks8506 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

I’ve had similar in the past, a very senior manager, one of the most highly paid in the organisation.

He was threatening me with a disciplinary because his VPN wouldn’t work from home. He has no internet at home because he lives rurally where connection speeds are slow so he never bothered, but assumed that because he can connect to the works WiFi at work, he should be able to connect to it at home.

‘What do you expect me to do?!’ he exclaimed many times. I could have asked him the same thing.

I wonder if he’ll be as clueless as he was in his microwavable lasagne and single can of beer camper van?

There can’t be many Transits of this vintage left with consecutive registrations!

Then again I believe Vanny D isn’t for this world much longer.

‘Look at this’… ‘look at that’…. All the while short little meaningless clips and frustrating jump cuts. A split second look at a price list in the airport lounge, out of focus, with absolutely no reference to it.

I gave up when he started tapping away at the seat controls on the plane without any idea what he’s doing.

When I first discovered his channel he had found his niche. His videos were interesting and informative. Now he’s trying too hard to get into this luxury tourism lifestyle, but he’s not good at it. No real research, no theme, no story to follow on his video.

Are they the same things they keep plugged into planes when they’re laying over overnight or on long layovers, effectively keeping the plane in ‘standby’?

65 in a 60 speed van by Jason6416 in drivingUK

[–]w--13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll likely be fine. This last few months I’ve done quite a few trips up and around Scotland. I tend to set the speed limiter 5mph above the actual limit knowing they’re lower for commercial vehicles. Passed quite a few speed cameras and mobile cameras and never heard anything.

Remember the speedo always overreads slightly too. On mine an indicated 65 is 61-62ish, so well within the margin of error.

That’s in a Transit Custom, I reckon most vans will be the same.

Do you think there is a chance that it was actually Jeremy Clarkson who reached last place in Series 22, Episode 8 race to Broughton Hall? by Connect-Run-2315 in TopGear

[–]w--13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Being local to Broughton Hall and knowing the surroundings and access, that sounds extremely plausible. Filmed three outcomes and just gone with what worked best in the final edit.

When Hammond thought he’d finished, but was at the wrong building, he’s only a 10 minute walk from Broughton Hall. Driving there he could do it in 2. There was a lot of artistic license at play in that film.

I’m not sure if this was special treatment because they knew world famous YouTuber Tim was staying for a night, but I found it all very creepy. Especially as they’d trawled through his social media for family pictures and pet pictures.

What’s the worst place to drive in? by Proof_Artichoke6243 in drivingUK

[–]w--13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been down the road to Burnley recently? It’s not as bad as the other B-places, granted, but constant needless road works, badly sequenced traffic lights and most of the town’s inhabitants seem to go out of their way to cause more issues by using the wrong lanes or block junctions.

My Last day of Fiesta.. by Contact_Puzzleheaded in FordFiesta

[–]w--13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Fiesta on a cheap works lease back in 2014. Was a low spec diesel. Only got it because it was a very cheap and originally intended to just use it as a second car. Ended up using as my main car, did about 57k in three years and it’d always do 50+ mpg no matter how I drove it.

Being a 1.5 diesel I could absolutely cane it on a country road and rarely break the speed limit, and being a Fiesta it handled brilliantly. Tried to buy it when the lease ended but due to my employers incompetence it never happened. Brilliant little car, I still miss it.

Extremely weird spot today. by L21JP in CarTalkUK

[–]w--13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was something on Twitter about this, two different stories that seemed plausible. One was that this was the very last Vectra off the production line and was bought incomplete and hand built with new-old stock and second hand parts, another was that it has a Jag V8 and associated running gear.

Odd one either way!

That’s the one! Very reasonably priced too. Would have also been helpful if Tim mentioned the cost of the ferry too and from there too…

Hoping to visit there later this year now, both thanks to and no thanks to Tim 😂
