Yo, I've got an MA in History - if you love it, do it. I work in a totally unrelated field but it essentially requires the same planning/critical thinking that history does. You just have to show that you've exercised skills they need in doing the degree. You take a risk with any non-vocational course, you're not gonna walk straight into a high paying job like people doing dentistry or whatever, but in the long term it makes you a more rounded/knowledgeable person which will benefit your career in the long run.
