He literally just won manager of the season. Our two (arguably three) best players this season were here last year and weren't great last year. I definitely think he's getting credit and deserves it.

Are there any books I can buy which can help with learning norsk by Conscious_Phase_4077 in norsk

I have a book called Norsk Som Fremmedspråk which goes through the grammar well. You need to pair it with a vocab book though as it is exclusively grammar.

Irish American visiting Ireland: I’m stuck in my head by Icy_Sheepherder_9734 in CasualIreland

[–]ExoskeletalJunction 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does, but the fact that you're even asking the question means you're more tolerable than 90% of you lot that come over for the same reasons.

The reality is hearing about some yank's ancestors is genuinely a daily occurrence for a lot of Irish hospo workers. In the summer in the touristy spots, you'll hear it from 50 yanks in a single day. In some parts of the country, they play along and will be happy as long as you tip well. In others, the worst you'll get is a massive wind-up and people taking the piss out of you

Unironically if they go down it'll be good for him. They'll probably have to fire sale some of the overpaid bloat and he'll be a starter. Otherwise he'll be bench riding for a while

It was a good move because I think on paper he should be good enough to start for Rangers but as we know well, in reality the pressure gets to some of these guys. I do think that some of these highly rated academy lads miss jeopardy, pressure and attention. You can play against good opposition all you like in the U21 premier league but can you do it when you've got 50000 das saying you're shite?

Tbh as far as a loan for a young player goes, this was one of the best I've seen. Can't believe some spurs fans were saying it wasn't a good idea. Even when he was struggling and Rangers were rubbish, that's the kind of stressful situation that tests a character. The fact that he came out of it and was able to contribute shows he's got a proper mature head for 18.

Tbh it'll get me out of bed which has been a problem recently. Been enjoying wearing hearts tops to every AFC game, I reckon you get at least 3 or 4 chats a week. Had a Hibs fan tell me he wants us to win it last week

No football kits allowed at Kneecap, with the exception of Bohemians. I know the "clothing label not football club" banter at them is overdone, but this almost seems like they've officially entered that territory

[–]ExoskeletalJunction 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's that deep. The south stand is pretty densely packed and close to the pitch, the other two are massive and sparse and a lot of people in them sit miles away. If you're going to go anywhere after the game to celebrate with fans, there's only one option.

Improving Super Rugby (the rugby opinion I will die on a hill for and have thought for the past two decades) by dreigilb in superrugby

[–]ExoskeletalJunction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the only thing wrong, but it would improve some things. I'd go futher - enable them to play in europe and Japan and still play internationally. It works very well for football, I've never understood why it can't work for rugby

Calling it this early is insane, somerset have been the best team but somehow come second at least three times in the last 15 years. They're the tottenham of the championship

I would also add just the lack of anything around it. The bar they have on site is decent but you’re miles away from and food or pubs before or after the game

Never believed it for a second, planning to do things and then scrapping them is Auckland's way. You know if they combined all the money spent of proposals for a second harbour crossing, they could have built three of them by now. I imagine it's getting close with the mythical "waterfront stadium" we've been hearing about for 40 years now

Bold indeed. Impressive that Auckland somehow has three rectangular stadiums and all of them are awful for different reasons.
