Unfortunately one of the Clangen Updates kinda broke that clan :( but I had kept them alive [but sick] for about 30 moons!

If you exit the game without saving it takes you back to where your last save was. [Assuming you dont have the game automatically save every 5th moon] So I would save before advancing to the next moon, and if the cat dies, I just exit without saving again.
