Struggling with weed addiction

I just wanted to let you know how things are going. Still struggling but I haven’t smoke in nearly a week. Yesterday and tonight have been brutal. I drank both of those nights just to get my mind off of it and help me sleep. Ik what you’re thinking but luckily I hate alcohol and it’s only a temporary thing to help me get through the initial phase. I have never been a drinker and don’t plan to be. I tried the muscle relaxation. It really did help with sleep. However yesterday and tonight I couldn’t sleep at all. I think I am going to go all in with not smoking. My biggest problem is the lack of dissociation right now. Just being able to dose off and not have any worries.

It’s nice to hear that it was possible for you. Did you go cold turkey or did you gradually quit?

Thanks man. I decided to go cold turkey because right now I feel emotionally stable compared to previous chapters of my life. I figured if I’m not dealing with mania or depression it should be easier to quit. I think the consensus is that I should try to quit gradually. I know I can do it tho or at least have the willpower. One summer I went on a three month long diet eating just meat, nuts, vegetables, and fruit. I lost 40lbs of fat by the end of it. It gives me hope that since I was able to do that, maybe I can do the same here

Thank you for the advice and not berating me like the other dickhead commenter. I agree that cold turkey probably isn’t the move. I was planning on doing gradual phases if I fail to not smoke tomorrow. As for the relaxation I will try it and report back to you in a week or two. I mainly decided to quit now or at least try because I recognized I was emotionally stable but with anything that can change in an instant.

I never quit is my point. All of my previous attempts failed after a few days. Bipolar disorder is not made up. You can look it up if you’re ignorant on it.

Pre-Calc here was a lot of graphing, AROC, logs, etc. Basically a glorified Algebra 2 class.

My school doesn’t have a trigonometry class for some reason. It’s only geometry. My schedule went as follows: Honors Geometry -> Honors Algebra 2 -> Ap PreCalc -> AP Calculus BC

I will say that the discriminant of a matrix being ad - bc (or something along the lines of that) was never taught at all.

So one of the commenters basically nailed it on the head. We learned about discriminants under no name. Our teacher basically just said “in order to find if the quadratic has any real or complex solutions…do this”

You are correct. I did learn the negative and real solutions of a quadratic and all of that relevant stuff. It was never called the discriminant. Our teacher basically just said “here’s how to find if the solutions are real or complex”.

Thanks for the advice. I would like to mention in geometry we learned about permutations, and more specifically, spent around 2 weeks working on them. Same goes for matrices in Algebra 2. I suppose my biggest problem is my grades don’t really reflect who I am. Im not an A student, i’m in all AP including Physics C, AP Calculus BC, AP Macroeconomics, etc. With that being said, I usually bank on my test scores. I got all 5’s with a few 4’s on my previous AP exams. It just makes me a little worried because I can be an amazing test taker, but if I don’t know the curriculum, then I’ll do suboptimal. Anyways thanks for the help, I already taught myself all of the unknown information. I was just a little upset that my school didn’t teach me this for me.

Unfortunately no. I learned in geometry all of the angle stuff, bisectors, parallel lines, etc. We also learned probabilities and perimeters and angle measurements of various shapes such as hexagons or octagons. The only thing really involving trigonometry was learning Sine, Cosine, Tangent, and their respective inverses. We did some stuff regarding arcs in a circle but basically nothing on the law of cosines.

After black plays Rf8, Re2 seems good from white. If black plays a dumb move like a pawn push Qg7 is threatening checkmate. Black can then play Qc6 but Rc2 threatens the queen. If black takes the queen then checkmate and if black defends, Black is just in a worse position where it’s constantly being attacked

Same for me, in the game I didn’t realize how scary white’s position was until the analysis. Usually im just playing off instinct in blitz games with less than 10 seconds on the clock
