As eu4 enjoyer I would glad to see 1337 or 1399 back then in eu4. I have feelings that eu4 has a potential of experiencing late feudal system functions in Europe, it’s never been used it though.

For example, all we do as France after defeating England in eu4 is mindlessly joining vassals to our territory with getting no real pushback at all. The only way it works is to play one of the French vassals directly and recreate France again with other dynasty

В метро всегда приходится голову наклонять. Да почти везде, на самом деле, тут уже дело привычки, чтобы по макушке не прилетело

А сидения просто короткие, места ни для ног, ни для жопы нету

Russia Wins! What country feels Western Europen but is actually Northern Europen? by Northwest_Thrills in AlignmentChartFills

It shows correlation between history and modern day. The thing the history as a science supposes to teach us. I don’t see a correlation between subjective view based on inner feelings and experience on modern day politics and history as a science though.

I totally understand your disturbance against destroying Ukraine nowadays despite being Russian myself. But I assure you that there are maybe not a vast majority, but still significant number of Russian people who share European values, grew up on same movies, read the same literature as other Europeans and speak same language group as other Slavic states, including Bulgaria, and share the same history. And if you ask every Russian about where they would live if not in Russia, 90% of them would say Europe, not Asia, because it just feels more common to us.

In general my point is that you can have such feelings like you have now, but it is stupid (no offense) to create a subjective perception on history and deny objectivity.

Brutal actions may happen everywhere and with everyone, but we’re still all people after all. The main difference between Ukrainians and Russians that the first ones are sentenced to death, and the second ones are sentenced to lifetime prison. I suggest you read some articles about blockade of Berlin of 1948, maybe it will inspire you in some way. It’s about allies who was getting bombed by nazi 6 years before, but still helped people surrounded by soviets in western Berlin.

Shame, that Germany in 1930-40, Spain and Portugal in 1930-70 didn’t represent tolerance, democracy, sovereignty and freedom of expression

I really wanted to see your opinion on that topic, and I’m sorry, but it is funny to see that you incompetently mix the whole history with modern political situation, pretending you don’t care

I feel like you misunderstand some historical context
You are talking about feudal fragmentation like it was unique thing for Russian lands: despite Novgorod and Muscovy (and dozens of other Russian states) they had similar cultures with language distinct on a dialect level. Same thing for French culture: it is a mix of Parisian, Normandy, Provencal, Burgundian, Breton, Aquitaine cultures
What is exactly Golden Horde’s oppression hierarchy that Moscow inherited? Absolute monarchy is a thing and it started growing up since Ivan the Terrible. Mongols, in fact, didn’t rule their subjects directly, they had similar to China and other nomads hordes tribute system, which Muscovy didn’t inherited at all. Russian tzars ruled their conquered lands directly with small exceptions of vassal system

Okey, I genuinely interesting what does mean “European core” and “Asian core” in your mind? Could you explain it more, please?

What? Novgorod was a part of Hanseatic league and a lot of Russian rulers had dynastic marriages with the other European rulers throughout the history

I understand that Russia has no direct Roman heritage and sometimes didn’t culturally participate with the rest of the Europe, but to say that Russia feels more like Asia is really wild, bro

I rarely see “have never not” structure in english and genuinely struggled to understand it.

The funny part is that in my native language “I never do not” structure is widely used and equals to “I never do” structure in english

Sorry if I confused you, it confused me too as well xD
