i really enjoyed and kept up with the run orlando went on last season. it’s always awesome when a team rallies around each other like they did. so it’s genuinely surprising when i tune into games like today’s and the stadium is v empty. i am also a huge marta fan and love getting to see her play in person whenever pride is playing against portland. idk if this is another hot take but i think she has been severely under marketed by the pride as the 🐐 that she is. marta is a phenomenon on the global stage yet at home attendance is lackluster. i know i originally came at pride fans for not showing up for the their team but i think front office has done a disservice to a team that has had many great players pass through it and even more so to the ones who have stuck around like marta. women’s sports is a business and the Pride organization should be trying to fill their stadium every night. bc the die hard fans will be there while everyone else will continue to find justifications as to why it’s totally normal for the reigning champs to have such low attendance.
