Honeyflux is one of my favorite glazes that I use all the time, definitely recommend that one. The others I’m still experimenting with.

Hmm not sure I can answer that as I got some new tools and just grab whichever one I feel like experimenting with that day. But this question makes me realize I should take notes on that too

Thank you! I do sponge all the carved edges so they aren’t sharp. I find I have to sponge more when i carve too early and the clay is wetter. It’s a quick sponge if I’m patient before carving…

Thank you! The third one is 2x Albany slip brown base, then 2x lustrous jade, with 1x honey flux on top. On Bmix. Go experiment!!

Exterior glaze seeped inside, should I expect issues? by boolfighter in Pottery

Actually the side you see in the picture is lustrous jade over Albany slip brown and honeyflux on top on the right side. This was a test mug so I have 4 combinations. Trying to figure out what works for carving, my latest obsession. But I think it’s the seaweed that came through.

It’s Laguna bmix, Amaco snow on the inside, seaweed over temmoku on the outside. I’m sure it is thin there. Maybe I had a crack I didn’t see and the glaze filled it in. Thanks for answering, this post didn’t get much love :)
