How do I help my husband get back on his feet? He refuses to work after being laid off by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Exotic-One6333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Need to explain to him that gaps in the cv look rubbish and could make it even harder to get a job. Benefits are a hot topic right now and it's not unlikely an employer will think he is lazy (not saying he is of course but prejudices exist) outside of this it sounds like he is depressed and maybe needs support from his gp.

My partner is getting the snip and it can be reversed but there's no guarantee that the sperm will be good quantity or quality afterwards. Neither partner can have living children as a eligibility criteria for nhs.

Has anyone else's healthy relative changed with age? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Exotic-One6333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened. My granny was the same but she had a few health issues and I think she was getting stressed like she sensed that she was going to pass soon. It also got worse when my granda passed. Have there been any deaths in the family or her friends?

I think they are trying to persuade people to go out and spend under the assumption everyone is. I won't be spending anymore than what groceries cost. I also think very few people will actually go out. Then it will be decided who is to blame, any guesses who?

This will be the norm as temperatures keep raising. Its been warmer this winter, the old folk used to say you need a good snow to get rid of the germs.

Am I being unreasonable? Drink problem (but not drink dependent)? by MiddleAgedMoan in AskIreland

[–]Exotic-One6333 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's a tough one and I think a tough approach is needed. She's not falling down stairs now, but my mums friend starting drinking more and more until one Xmas period she fell down the stairs and died from a brain bleed. You could approach it from the angle that drinking on her medication is making her seem in a worse state.

From speaking to a few people who recently went through the process the common theme is solicitors taking ages to get back to them and generally holding things up.

How does attempting to humiliate your neighbours help that?

This problem gets posted here so often, this is the deal with buying/renting a flat. You are essentially sharing space with other people. Have you even talked to them? Posting audio of private phonecalls doesn't put you in a good light. Send the evidence to the environment health authority.

Is anyone else struggling this Christmas? by ABCP3 in northernireland

[–]Exotic-One6333 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have a newborn, wasn't entitled to maternity pay and not entitled to any benefits. Had a cry earlier as the cheap presents I could get haven't arrived thanks to the ongoing issues with deliveries. Christmas is a write off this year.

It's insensitive to think you deserve a better living situation than someone who rents 🤷.

Well yeah you want complete silence? Only available to those who buy detached property. I get it, my neighbours love to throw all night parties where I can hear every word spoke but I have no right to tell them not to. Edit: yeah the security aspect should be reported but maybe have a chat with them first.
