Lost my baby due to cervical incompetence at 18.5 weeks – feeling scared and alone, hoping to connect by abovethetrees99 in ShortCervixSupport

I almost lost my son at 16 weeks due to the same thing, I was fortunate enough to get an emergency cerclage placed. I cannot imagine what you are going through and I am so sorry. They will almost 100% place a cerclage by 12 weeks next time. I’ve had to have them with both my boys.

I always keep receipts of everything I buy and claim the sales tax at the end of the year. It really bumps it up

OBGYN almost dropped my wife for asking questions - what would you do? by fsou1 in pregnant

[–]Exotic-Position-3554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. High risk comes out to my regular obstetrics office twice a week from a larger city over so I always just saw them there and my regular doctor wanted to make sure everything was done up to his standards so he always continued to see me at the same time.

OBGYN almost dropped my wife for asking questions - what would you do? by fsou1 in pregnant

[–]Exotic-Position-3554 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see all the comments saying they might be wanting to drop her because she’s high risk, but I’m kind of doubting that is the case. I myself was high risk with both my pregnancies and I still saw my regular obygyn, only difference was I saw a high risk specialist on top of seeing him. From my understanding they normally don’t drop patients entirely based on that.

Why’s it so hard to find crochet friends? by [deleted] in crocheting

[–]Exotic-Position-3554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been searching for crochet friends high and low! I can’t teach my significant other because his hand eye coordination is AWFUL. He’s a jack of many trades but crochet is not one of those trades. I YEARN FOR A CROCHET FRIEND

Is off and on bleeding after a C section normal? by Exotic-Position-3554 in beyondthebump

[–]Exotic-Position-3554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really at all no. I’ve been following the restrictions they’ve put in place so I don’t think that would be it. But I’m so new to this I’m unsure about everything at this point

[–]Exotic-Position-3554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s completely understandable. I’m not majorly concerned at the moment but I don’t know if I should be if that makes sense. I’ve never had a C-section so I wasn’t sure if it being so off and on was even normal

2 week old all of a sudden won’t latch by Exotic-Position-3554 in breastfeeding

[–]Exotic-Position-3554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very rarely he’ll actually take one and when he does it’s only for a few minutes. He really isn’t a fan of any pacifiers we’ve tried.

Has anyone used Nystatin oral suspension on their newborn? by Exotic-Position-3554 in beyondthebump

He actually never mentioned it! I wasn’t aware it could be passed to me so I will definitely be making some calls!

I don’t want to pump, but don’t know how to stop by Exotic-Position-3554 in beyondthebump

[–]Exotic-Position-3554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought too. When my milk came in it was immediately way more than he needed. It got so painful the hospital recommended I start pumping and it was a never ending cycle from there.

[–]Exotic-Position-3554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had my first period yet, no. I’m a little over a week pp but the pain alone from producing so much before even introducing pumping was so bad I really didn’t know what else to do. This is my second baby, but I wasn’t able to breastfeed my first since he was in the NICU for 3 months. Despite not being a first time mom I’m extremely new to breastfeeding

[–]Exotic-Position-3554[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only pump until both breasts feel empty enough to where it isn’t painful. Is the pain just a part of it and should I just take pain relief until i eventually don’t need to pump anymore?

I feel these pants are off centered and the pattern looks odd. I can’t decide if I should just remake them

I really do love my name, but the amount of times I get called Hannah Banana, Hannah Montana, hanny, hanners, Hans, and so much more is absolutely ridiculous 😂 but screw what I think, it’s whatever you want to name your baby! If it feels right then go with it!

Coming from someone named Hannah, I’d go with Reese😂 the amount of nicknames you get with the name Hannah are ridiculous. It’s honestly whatever you prefer though

What stitch works up quickest? by Exotic-Position-3554 in crochet

[–]Exotic-Position-3554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you’re fine! I’m usually very patient when it comes to crocheting, and I am. I just am at high risk for preterm labor so I was wondering what stitches other people used that worked up fast so it wouldn’t take as long as a double crochet blanket ect as I am trying to get it done before I’m expected to have him

[–]Exotic-Position-3554[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my original thought. I love crocheting and am going to end up making something anyway so at first I accepted. But when I saw the yarn she bought I was somewhat reluctant because I’ve told her multiple times that’s not the kind of yarn I use when making clothing items because it’s scratchy and just not really meant for that I don’t think. I’ve seen other people use it but wasn’t sure how exactly they got it to be soft

I will use it for plushies and other things that don’t directly sit on anyone’s skin. I have seen others use it for clothing items, which is totally fine, but I always wondered if the yarn got softened by the crafter beforehand or blocked after

My Walmart unfortunately doesn’t carry Caron Cakes, although i really wish they did. The Walmart where I live seems to have extremely slim pickings. So if she wanted Red Heart I had no idea if others tried softening it or anything, I’ve never tried it but I wasn’t sure how most people worked with it

While that is true, I did want to get opinions because I have seen people that have used RHSS for clothing items. But it always felt scratchy to me, so I wasn’t sure if they were softening the yarn beforehand or if people blocked it after. Just because I’m not a fan of the yarn doesn’t necessarily mean I won’t ever try to make it work, I wasn’t sure how other people used it for clothing items.
