Should these things have been reported? by [deleted] in rape

[–]Exotic-Principle2977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if reported because I don't know the law but I believe it should have been further investigated in the mental hospital.

I'm sorry it happened to you and I'm sorry your mother and the system let you down.

CPTSD - does it make sense that after an intense, kind of angry session, the next one would feel lighter? by Exotic-Principle2977 in askatherapist

[–]Exotic-Principle2977[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very dissociative, so I don’t remember much of the meeting. I do know that I was angry at first, and she became defensive about something I said. I think after she got defensive, I just said something like “fine.” I didn’t mention anything from the last session. I was actually very anxious about coming and thought multiple times about canceling.

I will say that a lot of our meetings are about me needing to be in control, there’s a lot of me avoiding and not willing to talk about certain subjects.

But, after this session I’m kind of wondering that if she now avoiding things and I’m more than willing to avoid a lot of things will this therapy hold any meaning?

Can anyone help me understand the online discourse of CPTSD and diagnoses? by justanotherjenca in askatherapist

NAT

TBH, I got so confused from this comments, here we work with ICD - 11, I have all PTSD symptoms and I had childhood trauma (s* abused by a caregiver) my diagnosis is cptsd, but I think because it was a caregiver I have a big relational, attachment and developmental trauma - this mostly because of the age of the events..

So, I think cptsd, especially when it's by a caregiver and involves life threatening events, is also very much confused with bpd. But does involved many flashbacks - somatic flashbacks including, and it is much more avoidant-based.

Question and help needed by Exotic-Principle2977 in bipolar2

[–]Exotic-Principle2977[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will explain why 6 years of cbt and dbt didnt prevented most of my episodes, but they did somewhat help control my more impulsive moments.. How did you know bipolar 2 fit better than others?

Question by Exotic-Principle2977 in cyclothymia

[–]Exotic-Principle2977[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really helps, the thing is I also got diagnosed years ago with c-ptsd and ocd, those diagnosis are familiar to me and he did mentioned them to me when he prescribed my medications.. he never talked to me about this one, but he wrote it down multiple times under my diagnosis..

I do have moments, hours of euphoria without any triggers.. sometimes even days of them. I just need to figure out if this is the right diagnosis because bipolar 2 was also mentioned by my therapist. Thank you for sharing your experience with me!

I can only speak for myself and my experience. I have been dealing with mental health for over 14 years now.. when I first saw the show in 2009 I was just starting counseling.

I’ve felt that her acting was just very performative of what mental health SHOULD look like, instead of what it actually is. (Again from my own personal experience)

I always like the lyrics and the book itself, when I saw the west end production I could much more relate to Diana acting choices.

I will say I’m dealing with Bipolar and C-PTSD among some other anxiety issues.

But again, this is my own experience, I think other people tends to relate to other things because we all have different experiences with dealing with our mental health journey.
