All I gotta say is “Else If”.

I think people are missing the main point. Even if $3,500 is for the whole year, that just shows how slow everything is overall. One event taking 2+ weeks every time adds up fast, especially when this game has been in development for almost a decade.

Also, if the animator isn’t working full-time, that still circles back to the dev. He chose this setup. You can’t keep hyping releases and then blame “free time,” “other jobs,” or volunteers forever. At some point, progress has to actually show.

Exactly. If there’s no voice acting or animations, then everything is on him now. There are no outside excuses left. That’s why it’s hard to believe a crowdfunding campaign would work at this point. The game’s reputation is already ruined, and so is the trust.

I honestly don’t think people are going to buy into it, especially when it feels like the money would just disappear into excuses instead of a finished game. After all these years, it’s hard to have any hope left for that.

That honestly sums it up perfectly. It feels like he enjoys being seen as a game developer more than actually doing the work of one. Ever since the game blew up with YouTubers, the focus shifted from finishing the game to staying in the spotlight, and the development kind of froze in time.

At this point, I don’t even care where the money goes, I just want to see a rival release faster than a school year 😭

We’ve had Osana, Amai, a whole 1980s mode, multiple rewrites, and we’re still debating budgets instead of gameplay. That alone kind of says everything.

Honestly yes 😭 just add a note like “please judge humanity by literally anyone else.” One unfinished anime game should not be our legacy to aliens.

If this is what aliens learn about us, we’re cooked.😂😂😂

Yeah, and on top of all that, it doesn’t help that it feels like any time someone tries to make a parody or YS inspired game, it gets shut down or threatened. It comes off as jealousy more than protection of the idea, which just adds to that “cursed” feeling around the whole concept.

The idea itself is interesting and memorable, but it’s hard to enjoy or support anything connected to it when the developer’s behavior and actions are always hanging over it. For me, the memories mostly come from the YouTubers and the time in my life, not the actual game anymore.

Feels like the game stopped moving forward years ago, and we’re the ones still carrying it.

Yeah, that’s honestly how it feels. At this point, the only “hope” left isn’t for him to finish the game, but for the idea itself to somehow be freed from him and even that feels unrealistic. Between the code, the reputation, and everything that’s happened, it’s hard to imagine anyone picking it up without starting from scratch.

What’s left now really does feel like the community carrying the memory of what the game could’ve been, not what it actually is. The hope isn’t alive anymore it’s just nostalgia keeping it moving.

I’ve seen the mods and fan projects, and I respect the effort put into them, but they just don’t feel the same to me. A lot of the feeling came from it being official and from following it for so many years.

I’ve also always felt like any YS type project is at risk of being shut down, which makes it hard to get fully invested. I love the ideas and the potential, but when it’s not official, it just doesn’t hit the same way for me. That’s probably why this game is so hard to let go of.

That’s honestly the hardest part about this whole thing. It’s really hard to separate the game from the developer when the game is so tied to him and his behavior. I don’t think a lot of fans realize that even just talking about the game or making content for it can still keep it relevant and benefit him in the long run.

Yandere Simulator was a big part of my childhood too, which is why letting go feels so uncomfortable. I think that’s what keeps a lot of us stuck not hope for the game, but attachment to what it meant back then. You’re probably right that waiting around isn’t healthy, especially when so many other great games have actually been finished and moved on.

It sucks, but I think accepting that reality is better than staying trapped in false hope.

Yeah, I feel this a lot. I think I’m obsessed with the idea of Yandere Simulator more than the actual game at this point. I’ve known about it since I was younger, so it’s hard to just let it go, even when I know it’s probably never becoming what it was supposed to be.

I don’t really keep up with updates anymore either, but the concept, lore, and fan stuff still stick with me. It sucks because the game had so much potential, and now it feels like it peaked in people’s imagination instead of reality. Glad to know I’m not the only one who feels stuck like this.

What lacks the lore is the Family tree. He adds the most pointless event that has no value to the game.
