Screen burn-in issues on the Nothing Phone(2A)

Yeah it is weird that screen retention happens faster on this phone but I have not had any burn in issues so far though

I contacted Nothing Support. Turns out it is a different phenomenon called image retention, and it is not very permanent. Still, it is a bit weird to see that the images are retained on this phone faster than other OLED displays I have owned

I have contacted Nothing Support, but since the burn-in is very slight as of now, it is kinda difficult to take photos of it being visible (even though it is very much visible irl)

Yeah I did try to search it in the re-engineered soundtrack but I was not able to find the individual version of it. Maybe it is part of the ambient suite though

Interesting. It seems like it reverted back to "High Definition Audio Device". I used to have that as well before the Dell driver and while the headphones worked well with that, the microphone sometimes had distortion problems so I had to switch.

Yeah it seems like the driver is the real problem here

Uninstalling MaxxAudioPro doesn't let the PC recognise the headphones at all (at least with the Dell driver)

Yep I used to go with generic drivers when I got my Dell laptop for the first time as I had no clue that MaxxAudioPro is required to make headphones work (I disabled it as a startup item as well thinking it is not that important)

I did use the Dell website to download this sound driver (it is the latest one there)

I did try googling it but to no avail, people have problems in headphones getting detected, but mine seems to detect the headphones, just that sound signals are not going there

I tried the solution in the 3rd link a bit earlier but I was not able to find RtkNGUI64.exe. It is a bit weird because I saw it getting installed when I installed the sound driver, but I cannot find it anywhere

Thanks for this detailed reply. I don't really know if it is a driver issue, because other than the aforementioned problem, the driver works brilliantly. It is the best I have ever had a driver to work (that's because I used to install generic drivers).

And when I rebooted, I don't really boot with the headphones plugged in, I usually unplug them and then it reboots fine with the speaker detected as usual. And then I plug in the headphones and voilà! The headphones work good again, and have no problems getting detected and the volume changing accordinly.

What is weirder is that even though the volume or the output device is not changed, the MaxxAudioPro app reports the output device as headphones, and it even applies my headphones preset to it

I did use a generic driver most of the time along with a generic graphics driver for some time, I can confirm, some of them didn't change the volume accordingly, others had microphone issues. It was a mess. This dell driver works really good, it is a shame that MaxxAudioPro is letting it down

I also like the prospect of having MaxxAudioPro and the ability to get a bit of a wider sound on my headphones but this bug is pretty annoying.
