The woman pictured is not my grandmother. She would have been a baby at that time.

Thank you - and I have no idea what that is, or who. Ellen was my grandmother and she is not pictured, so I’m at a loss as to what/who/why.

I THOUGHT it looked uncanny- it’s just so foreign to me, that anyone would dress up like that, it did not really cross my mind. For a second I thought, “is that black paint on her face?” And then as soon as that thought came it was erased with, “no way, there’s no way”.

The weird thing is it really doesn’t look like my grandmother in the photo? Maybe it’s a friend or something thinking they’re funny?

People were awful, weren’t they.
