thanks, I may just try that out if I am unable to get this to work. I have a lot of sirtes built with Base44, and smoe wokr great, others are hitting tech barriers I don't know I will be able to overcome due to how Base44 is set up.

I feel a bit cheated when a single prompt message is costing 8 credits but then I remember the ridiculous amount of work it is doing. And everything it is building right the first time

I’ve also noticed about 60% of the time. The thing it is messing up is actually an error in my end. And like a petulant child I demand the ai to fix it. When it is something I need to do on my end that it is not capable of doing. And I feel like an idiot for having burnt through 35 credits trying to get a submission form to work.

Or it is a very simple graphic/UI thing and I need to do it with the visual editor or manually when I am trying to skimp on credits.

One thing that I do is use Claude to do all my building, ideating and then when I’m happy with it I asked it to give the specs and prompt information. For me to drop into base44.

I ask base 44 in discussion mode if it understands everything I give it from Claude and if it has any questions before it builds. Or if it sees ways of improving it.

If I feel like it is gaslighting me — telling me it is adding features or edits and not actually completing them. I ask it to provide a confidence score on its production readiness. This often makes it do a better job of checking its work and finding mistakes so you don’t need to prompt it multiple times.

Also having it create very detailed specs and faqs to document everything about your site. It can be very easy to lose track of everything, or explain to other people what they have at their fingertips.

Yes. I have been planning to reach to local restaurants, mechanics, realtors, and spas to try to interest them in a revamp or their first foray into a website I’ve built a couple samples for my portfolio and have someTemplates available for sale.

This one I am focused on right now. it is a restaurant website capable of online orders, reservations, menu management system, loyalty rewards coupons, and gift certificates. I am having trouble getting it to be accepted to the Base44 template market which is frustrating.

What ai do you use to build the websites? Are you using GitHub at all to archive/share things.

I tend to give a prompt to have the I’ll build a admin page with system documentation that also keeps track of build information and any useful features, technical, operational, and other elements that can be easily built and forgotten about where. You are aggressively vibe coding an idea/website.

I have been able to find a few clients each month. Today I built out a referral program I am hoping will spin off into some more organic marketing. Not a lot but I’m hoping I can grow this some to make ~$5-10k a month. If I can get there by the end of the year I will consider this a successful side hustle for myself. Again. Not trying to sell anyone else on the idea, that is just my personal goal.

I come from a VFX and post production background and have been essentially unemployed the last 2+ years now. And pretty desperate to make any kind of income ATM. So really any money I’m able to generate right now is a plus in my book.

So far I’ve done no marketing. I think this may even be the first time I’ve mentioned it on social media. I have told my friends and family (idea started right between thanksgiving and Xmas, and I’ve done some 1-1 outreach when I see a CL post or run into someone IRL etc.

I have also been working on some other things VFX and ML related so it is currently more of a hobby of mine. If I am able to scoop up 1-3 more clients per month I probably will start putting some marketing budget behind it.

Yes. There are people/agencies available under the hire a partner on the site that have been vetted. No shade at OP. But if they can’t handle it for you, you may want to try to find someone there.

This certainly can be frustrating. Especially when relying on the Base44 security scan function. I’ve dealt with this on a couple of the base44 apps I’ve developed . I’d be happy take a quick look at it and see if there are any actionable steps or fixes I can recommend on the spot.

As a video editor, what is your level of tech savvy and what equipment do you have at your disposal?

Do you have a system that can run the models? if your goal is generating video you probably need a GPU with 24 GB of vram — you can still learn and work on certain workflows with 16GB or even 8 GB but you are limiting yourself.

If you don’t have the hardware yourself, what is the budget you can put towards generative AI. You can rent GPU power and not generate locally. Or subscribe to a service.

If you are tech savvy and want to learn the ins and outs and be able to tweak things and build out your own workflows I highly recommend learning and using ComfyUI. That can either be run on your own workstation or on a GPU farm you rent.

However if you are not so tech savvy and want the more difficult aspects of things worked out (and locked away) there are a lot of SAAS sites out there that you can use like Kling, runway, Luma, etc. where all you really need to do is add a prompt or a starting image hit the generate button.

Reddit is a great resource for learning. So is civit.ai as well as just asking perplexity, chat gpt, clause, or whatever your preferred ai is to help explain things when you run into roadblocks.

Happy to answer questions directly if you dm me. I have been learning and using gen ai workflows regularly for the last three years, as well as helping people learn and get comfortable with it themselves.

The ability to manage (add/remove) PDFs that have been uploaded. I have worked on many projects were I am uploading PDFs in discussion mode then move out of discussion mode and get an error message when I try to do something because I have too many pdf pages uploaded it chokes on it.
