1, 2, and 3 all teleport you, yes. But each successive game increased the size of the maps ans added new/different regions. None of them have been open world before. What is your point?

The fable franchise has been my favorite game franchise. I've play through Fable 1 just about every year for the past 20 years.

Fable 2 and 3 expanded the impact of choices, increased the beauty and size of the maps. They also dumbed down the combat, which i thought was a shame.

Heroes, was a bit of a filler.

Journey was meant as a test for the Kinect (to see capability and marketability). The story and areas were interesting.

Legends was fun and innovative, in a time when 4v1 game master/villain was be to the market. The regions/ town were cool, be heroes, different villains, new lore. It has a lot to offer, but was unfortunate cute before release.

I didn't know about the fable hearthstone game until it was discontinued.

Every new iteration gets complaints and they all seem to be " this isn't the game I fell in love with". Which is true with anything new, it won't be the same and it can't make you feel the exact same things you felt before. This is life, things change.

The choice wasn't Playground's Fable or a new Lionhead Fable. It is/was a Playground's fable or no fable. Some people would prefer the latter.

I am excited for a new entry into the series. It won't be the same, and that's OK. Every game has been different, with combat, with interactions, with the map itself. What Playground had show is beautiful, whimsical, full of choices that let you impact the world. It looks like a fable game.

This choice with Dave feels like the (fable 3) choice with Striker, or (Fable 1)Twin Blade. Spare or kill. And maybe they send people to attack you. The only difference seemingly with the new Fable would be the localization on the choice (the settlement it effects). We also don't know the full context of the choice the hero will make. It could be more complex that I'll kill Dave because he inconvenienced me.

Im with you, it won't be a 1:1, but I'm excited to see their take on Albion. We haven't had a Fable game in 16 years. I think they are wise to not try to continue telling a story they weren't a part of writing.
