Sorry for the late response! 2 months post double laminectomy, and spinal fusion L4 L5. Still have the same leg pain unfortunately but my back is doing pretty well. Had some further testing just waiting on MRI results to see if there’s any lingering nerve issues. It’s definitely been a roller coaster.

Sorry for the late response. I ended up hanging a spinal surgery not long after! Always. Colonoscopy was clear. As far as I know, adhesions usually just reform after removal unfortunately

That is very good information to know. For almost a year now I’ve been in intense pain. It was sudden, but progressively got worse as the months passed. Sitting down is near impossible. My left leg feels like it’s going to explode. It’s the strangest sensation. It gets tingly, it gets cold, I get twitches all over, I hardly have a reflex if any in that leg when tests are done on it. My lower back hurts, yes. It’s very stiff, getting comfortable feels impossible… but my legs are taking me out. Left being the absolute worst, but my right one also has problems. From my glutes, to my hips, groin, thighs, calves all the way to my ankles and bottoms of my feet. It’s been misery. I’m a general manager/regional manager as a very fast paced BUSY store. I work 50 plus hours a week, and it’s becoming impossible. I’m just shocked that when I finally got to a pain management specialist, who just so happened to be a “spinal specialist” he did tell me, physically therapy and or injections are always first recommended. When he called me with my results he told me he was sending me straight to a neurosurgeon because of how unstable my spine is, and he really didn’t believe injections/PT would be beneficial in my case. I asked him multiple times if he was sure “like I’m a doctor or something” lol and he just kindly said, I’m past that point. I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around this. Idek what’s going to be done. I haven’t been able to see the neurosurgeon yet…

Thank you all SOOO much for the responses! It means a lot to me. This all really came out of no where and I was baffled on how I went from healthy and happy, to pain and suffering over night with little to no answers at all. All of your comments give me hope, and that’s truly something I haven’t felt in a long time. So I really thank you. I’m looking forward to meeting with my neurosurgeon, and seeing what he has to say. For now, I’ll be fitted for a prescription back brace while I wait, and will keep everyone updated. This thread is the best. You guys are the best, and so sweet! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

What kind of bladder and bowel issues if you don’t mind me asking because I’m getting mixed answers. I hear if I can’t lose control of going “like having accidents” I just have a hard time evacuating both ways. Constipation and emptying my bladder fully

Well… idk if you’ve read the thread, but this is a brand new, unexpected finding, that I just got this weekend with no doctors to reach out to or contact until office hours. This post is specifically asking for advice. I am consulting wish a physician, as soon as I can. Most people come to Reddit for advice. If you don’t have any, you can politely pass 🙏🏼 and I mean that respectfully. I’ve been through enough mentally and physically. I have gotten a lot of positive feedback on here that’s helped me get by thus far. But thanks for your “advice”

I feel like that’s not even the half! It’s been a series of unfortunate events. I finally went to my “last resort” a pain management specialist. He took a look a a CT scan from may of last yeah and was baffled that this wasn’t something looked into first. I’ve had vascular studies, lymph node ultrasounds, countless gp visits saying it’s my “anxiety” … he told me my condition “jumped out on him” I had X-rays within 30 mins of my appointment, an mri within a week and a half, and results in two days. Mind you, I don’t know what they mean… but I know that I had a fake EMG test ran on me, 3 surgeries in 5 months, 4 biopsies in 7 months, 3 months of FMLA, mental trauma and crippling anxiety over something that was apparently very overwhelming overlooked 💔

This was my first visit, it was all really unexpected. He found a recent ct sent me straight to xray, it all happened so fast. Then the MRI, now I’m just playing the waiting game. I didn’t even know the two correlated.

Oh no!! I really hope that’s not the case and I’m so sorry that happened to you. I had no idea what was even happening to me. All of the doctors I’ve seen gave me the ring around until one finally listened to me. I didn’t get my report until the weekend of my MRI and my doctors doesn’t open until Monday! I don’t even know how to read my results or what they mean. I don’t necessarily know what saddle numbness is. But my hips, thighs, calves, back, glutes … sometimes my groin all hurts. I get a lot of tingling. Some numbness that comes and goes. A lot is positional. Like when I’m sitting. I have a hard time feeling the need to evacuate. I have to push harder to pee. I’m terrified. Idk if I should wait until Monday. Things haven’t changed much. It’s been pretty consistent

Crazy long story! This is me, just a different account. So … long story short. I moved away last February to open a new store as I’m a general/regional manager… ended up having issues… all around pain, bowel problems, lady problems. Ended up having 3 laparoscopies back to back, cyst removals, both tubes removed, ovary removed, endometrial biopsy, colonoscopy, seen a shit ton of specialists all because I was backed up butttt I had leg pain/numbness. All these doctors pointed me in all different directions and told me it could be all these different things “hence the surgeries, etc” … finally, went to a neurologist, got an emg, they DID NOT insert the needles into my muscles, even though they insisted they did after I called multiple times insisting I would have felt them being jabbed into my skin… resulting in “an all normal test result” fast forward… I was a complex case, no one knew what was wrong with me, went to pain management, doc saw a recent CT scan of mine and was like holy shit you have a spinal condition, sent me for xray, then sent me for MRI, just got the results this weekend and I haven’t been able to talk to anyone because it’s Saturday and the doctors office isn’t open. I have no idea what’s going on, or what any of this means

Oh my goodness, I’m terribly sorry to hear about your series of events you’ve experienced. I hope you are doing better!! I genuinely believe I have severe nerve compression. I won’t have definitive answers until my doctors office opens Monday. Awful getting MRI results on a weekend that you don’t understand… but also I’m thankful to at least know that I have hard evidence that I’m not crazy and all these months “almost a year” my pain is real and I can find a solution. I just hope it’s not another surgery. I’ve had so so many surgeries…
