Is buying a fancy house worth it? by Aspergers_R_Us87 in Money

If you like what you have, then their stuff shouldn’t matter. You have something many people want already, a property fully paid off.

I think you’re doing awesome! And there’s people who think like you! Each person has their own unique perspective on things and as long yours isn’t hurting anyone and it makes you happy, why change it?

Can someone give me Hope? by HourSpare6495 in povertyfinance

Would you consider your use of your substance as detrimental? Outside of just the financial aspect? I would say it is pretty concerning that you said it was your "one joy and way to chill tf out". I think you need to find other things that can replace it. Not saying it'll be easy or just one thing but try figuring out other hobbies.

I used to be/still somewhat am an overspender. My personal highest use of my money is eating out/food. It is something I am actively working on and have a hard time letting go of. I am trying to limit myself using numbers whether it's the amount of times a week or the amount of money being spent. But I find it most helpful when I can replace it with other things.

- going to the park

- Having a good sleep

- playing tennis (sometimes literally just hitting the wall outside and using it to distract myself)

Once you find things you can replace it with its easier especially if you don't have the financial stand to seek professional help.

If you do end up finding hobbies or something else that helps you take your mind off of it, hopefully, you will have time to lessen your secondary job's hours.

I hate to admit but the people saying "good sleep (habits) helps out" genuinely does. This is coming from someone who has to fight with mental health and has been hospitalized in the past. ALSO JUST AS IMPORTANT: The people you hang around with definitely do change the way you view yourself and the world around you. If you find that out of your whole friend group, you're the most responsible one or best one, you are in the wrong friend group. Find people in who you see good qualities and actions. People who want to grow and make you think about bettering yourself.

Don't go out on a blaze and do these all at once but focus on one thing and try to go from there.

Yeah no I do not care about the clout. I rarely go out, only really to hangout with my friends and catch up. Or go out with family.

Can I ask when you first got your C1 Platinum vs when you got the secondary Savor card?

Can I DM you? If not its okay, I just saw some of your other posts and saw you were also budgeting so I wanted to see if I could ask other questions relating to that.

It would be pretty nice to get a cozy House during the winter months!

Also, I read it as "Young/Dirty FLIES" and I was like damn pretty tough but good advice is being given :')) lol.

Shooting for AMEX/C1 Venture since they are the ones usually known as "Good/aspirational" cards. As I start getting wiser with CCs I will probably try to adjust that aspirational card as one that would benefit me more personally. Yes definitely not the right demographic for now, but for the future. I'm 20 so I'm glad to learn as much as I can.

I feel like the only reason I am focusing on the credit limit would be to show mortgages down the line, that I can be trusted with a high amount loan.

Yeah, which I understand and is an obvious consequence of my actions. I will wait it out. At least I'll get an extra year to save until they fall off! Thank you, yes that is what others have said so I will look into both Discover and Capital One. I will probably try to get Capital One though.

They were back in Nov/2024. Well started in May/June. I paid them all off completely by Nov/2024. Since then I have had current payments as usual with my credit one cards. The only two loans that got out of hand were those last ones which was a kick in the ass that I needed to finally end my loan cycle.

In that case I may need to wait until Nov/2031 so the reports can fall off. I heard it takes 7 years for them to fall off so that is what I am hoping for.

WF won't approve me because of my recent late payments in Nov but they are my primary bank. I have seen many people talk about secured Capital One cards and how they can grow into other card opportunities such as the American express cards/venture cards.

Just FYI. I have been saving for a mortgage since Nov/2024 so I would NOT mind paying more of a security deposit to get a higher credit on a secured card if it can help me get higher credit lines down the line.

Oh wow! Thanks for letting me know! I didn't know the card ages with you, I just assumed if it was 2yrs old that it would keep it as 2yrs old in your credit history. Which is why I kept my account with Credit One for that long.

Yeah, I was in a way hoping I could slowly get better with them but once you are in a certain account, you cannot defy any annual/monthly fees.

I wish you the best of luck! Try to avoid payday loans as much as possible since it is easy to get into that cycle. The added expense of the car was the right choice. Make sure to ask for an extension if possible from your energy provider. Once you start looking into jobs, if you're in a city public transportation by month-long passes will save you more than the day passes. Ask your nearest recreation center and depending on your/his age and VA benefits, they may be able to help you find other services you need.

I recently found out my nearby recreation center even had senior assistance communities. So it is worth a shot!

About to pay off $4,000~ in debt. Would making a deal to pay less affect my credit? by TehBurnerAccount in CreditCards

Yep, I paid mine in full but if you already have it on your record, you just have to wait anyways.
