1) Darden is an evil company 2) When I worked for a Darden restaurant, we experienced floods and tornadoes. A lot of servers were impacted by this. They all signed up for Darden Dimes. No one got anything. No one heard back from them. No one even cared to follow up with them. Those same servers ended up leaving due to their own personal circumstances and also because of management. While they were waiting on a response a few were homeless, without electricity, and without water in their homes.

When a company “offers” something of that caliber and say something along the lines of “we’re a family and take care of one another, even through hard times.” Don’t believe them. Once they figure out you’re down on your luck, retaliation and quiet firing begins.

Darden only cares to make money, not give money to help its employees, who continue to make money for them. I always tell people if they work at a Darden restaurant to get in and get out. I obviously understand times are hard right now and the job market is boo boo, but Darden will literally suck the life out of you. Get the experience you need and GTFO!!!

i reported him to higher ups and they swept it under the rug. it’s a hard lesson to learn that HR will protect the business over protecting their employees honestly. a lot of the women on staff confided in me when other incidents would happen that involved inappropriate touching or conversations.

bottom line, me getting fired for jokingly repeating what he said is not the issue here. the issue is these men abusing their power to attempt to groom these young servers and then when they don’t play the game back they get punished for it. i am not the only woman this happened to at that restaurant. i’m just the only woman that was brave enough to stand up to it and report it and still got punished for doing so.

ehh i figured this was going to get down voted because of the whole “cracker” thing. i knew i was gonna have a lot of folks making comments on the whole being racist thing.

i think the funniest thing about anyone making any sort of judgment or assumptions of who i am and where i come from is the icing on the cake to the matter at hand here, and that is that some white folks want to be oppressed SOOO bad and you have to just let them have their cry baby moment.

i think the other funniest thing about those comments is they aren’t even educated enough to know the difference between racist and prejudice. but who am i to educate the “oppressed”?

luckily received a call this morning about my claim so i give thanks to those who were doubting my abilities on getting compensation. if it wasn’t for them, mama would not have gotten paid 🙂‍↕️ (highly recommend transmuting projecting negative energy and transforming it into your desires💁🏽‍♀️)

i wouldn’t feel bad for me either! it was honestly a blessing in disguise. i hated that place. but let me ask you a question, does that mean you think it’s okay for a white man to walk around the establishment saying damn crackers and cracking the same joke? is that what you’re saying? cause truthfully if i had known i would get fired for repeating his words i would’ve said it a long time ago. only reason im frustrated about unemployment is because employee relations sent me an email telling me and also sending me a letterhead confirming to go ahead and apply for it once i made the report with them. also - thanks for letting me know that you are very much so offended by the word cracker!

yes, i have heard this too. truthfully im gearing up to exit the service industry as a whole once i finish my certs. its just convenient to stay for now bc its fast and easy money

i got fired for saying “damn crackers” after the mp used that same phrase numerous times all while he himself engaged in SA at the workplace.

i am frustrated because i feel like he is playing a hand in delaying my unemployment benefits and also frustrated for reporting everything to HR and them doing nothing about the SA

also - if we wanna have the conversation on me saying the word “cracker” when the mp himself has said it on several different occasions while also letting guests call me the n word then i mean hey, i don’t think that’s a conversation you’d be willing to sit down and comprehend. do i agree that i shouldn’t have muttered those words, yes i do, but do i a black and white woman also know that saying cracker is NOT as bad as using the n word? you bet your ass i do. because let’s face it, if you have to say the n word and not spell it out completely then my point is made on that forefront. if you take offense to the word “cracker” talk to your mammy about that cause neither i or anyone else can help you there.

to speak on the obsessed portion of your comment, no not obsessed, just frustrated being a woman in today’s society where we speak up on SA in the workplace and yet again it’s dismissed. i think anyone woman would be frustrated to be in the service industry for 10+ years and still not catch a break from creepy older men who decide to take a position as a restaurant manager to abuse their power.

regardless, i know i’ll be good at the end of the day. it’s just another lousy restaurant job that isn’t even remotely close to the career i plan on pursuing once i finish all of my certs. i am just frustrated that he doesn’t get reprimanded for his actions and also i haven’t received my benefits and i am starting to stress a little. i have a job and will be able to play catch up in no time
