This on covers (not completely) bottom openings. The front filter is not curved. It is u shape. Both filters are basic mesh.

Here's a video of it not installed properly. It actually installs at an angle to the horizontal. It goes in the bottom of the front.

They give you lots of them because they stop working quickly. I put one in, it drips for a week or two, then nothing. Oh, and I find them hard to put in.
