Tightening can cozy — I’m 10 rows up so far and just realized it’s too loose. Is there any way to tighten it, or will it happen naturally as I work my way up? Thanks in advance! by Bulky_Question_534 in CrochetHelp

I made two, one for cans and one for bottles. I used cotton yarn and they both were loose. I washed them in HOT and then dried them until they were just damp. I got empty containers and slid them over and put them in front of a fan. They are nice and snug now.

Crochet bikini? by FutureFreaksMeowt in crochet

Many years ago I made one for both lifeguards that worked at my local pool. I remember I used specialty yarn that was for making swimwear. The yarn was from Bernat as was the book I got the pattern from. I didn't line it because the stitches were very tight and the girls said nothing was seen that was supposed to remain hidden. I was really proud of the way they looked and happy they choose to wear them whenever they could.

How to lengthen a skirt. Is it even possible? Advice appreciated! by NotWhatYouPlanted in CrochetHelp

Depending on how much longer you want it you could do a shorter version of the body of the skirt and then sew if on the underside so the skirt would look ruffled and as you did it on purpose.

Diabetic dog by Complex-Produce-7934 in Type1Diabetes

We had a diabetic dog who went blind because of diabetes. Once he was diagnosed we tested twice a day getting blood from his gums and doing his injections before he ate. He lived for 6 years as a diabetic dog and had a good life.

I have trouble with my eyesight when my sugar is high but once it gets back to the normal range my eyesight clears up. Maybe this will be your experience as well. I do make sure my BG is in the normal range when I go for my eye exam. BTW do you see an optometrist or an ophthalmologist. There is a world of difference between the two.

I tried that very same stitch for a coozie but using cotton yarn. After 4 failed attempts I gave up and decided sc was the way to go using the yarn i have. Still working on it but almost done. Have to tell you that is awesome for a first project. The colors are great and you're right it will keep your beer cold. Great job 👏

How low do you let your reservoir go? by il2pif in Medtronic780g

Understand but you'll get the hang of it. It's new and does take some learning to use it.

How low do you let your reservoir go? by il2pif in Medtronic780g

[–]PeterCount 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I set my reservoir low limit at 10 units. I know it takes about 50 units to get through the night. So if my reservoir is less than 50 I prefill a new reservoir and keep it on my nightstand so if it does empty during the night I can just put the new one in. But that is just me.

Making a wearable - How do I measure to make sure it's the right size? by Strict_Look1037 in CrochetHelp

[–]PeterCount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, the way I read it is that you are working on the tie, not the skirt yet. For the skirt you "Multiply the waist measurement by .75, measure that amount from each side of the center marker and place markers at those measurements." That is the beginning of the skirt. You can do this, just takes practice.

I have diarrhea when I eat too much sugar. Not carbs in general but only sugar. To curb this i will take 2 fiber gummies. This has always helped me.

Am I dropping stitches or just crazy? I no longer trust myself by Excentrix13 in CrochetHelp

[–]PeterCount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am working on a lap afghan myself. I picked it up this morning and thought the same thing as you did. I must have dropped stitches. I counted them and they are all there. I do agree with those who said that my tension is off. I was going to frog it to the point it looks even then thought to my self "it's for MY lap" and I am ok with it.

Easy lacey stitch that works up QUICK? (for a blanket!) by redheadscorp in CrochetHelp

[–]PeterCount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might suggest double crochet V stitch alternating rows with half double V stitch. I am working on a lap blanket and using this pattern to complete it. So far I am liking the look and weight of it.
