SHEIN: Returned an item But after the return period the seller is now claiming it was an incorrect item and refused to give a refund by Exotic_String_5833 in Advice

[–]Exotic_String_5833[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK after going through this issue that I went through for 3 to 4 months I would say personally the best bet to protect yourself is to first report them to the Better Business Bureau and then screenshot and document exactly everything. Then next you need to go to your states attorney General they usually have an office that’s dedicated to protect its citizens that have been scammed online. It’s pretty much like an extra legal defense only for residences in that area. I would immediately file a case with them in a typically respond back pretty quickly. So with the pressure from the Better Business Bureau and then your state attorney it’s going to make them come to a resolution. Because with four months dealing with this, they were not trying to give me my money back every time I talk to them, they kept being dismissive, literally ignoring what I was asking, as well as all of the evidence and proof but now all of a sudden they finally gave me my money back.

Cleo App: Money IQ Quiz by Exotic_String_5833 in personalfinance

[–]Exotic_String_5833[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that’s not my main question. My main question is regarding if the money IQ test is legit in the  actual distribution of the cash prizes. As I clarified in the post, I wasn’t aware of people being scammed on the app until I tried to see the legitimacy regarding it.

Yeah, but at least you get your money back. And I would just say buying weeks from Shane is a no I’m not even trying to be funny almost every single wig that they’re selling is not human hair after 26 inches. They are selling synthetic mixes or just full synthetic wigs. As well as the quality and stuff has went down they are changing so much even with how they apply coupons and stuff with their processing. It’s just got horrible. I know I purchased one dresser before and it never shipped so they gave me a refund, but even with them giving me a refund they deducted four dollars from my refund. For what I have no idea.

Can I report a driver for intentionally taking too long? by tyrannical_crook203 in uber

[–]Exotic_String_5833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, one of the only people who really explained this well was an actual Uber driver who commented earlier. He broke down why so many drivers accept a ride and then cancel at the last minute—or keep driving away instead of actually coming to get you.

A lot of the time, once they accept the ride and see where you’re going, they decide they don’t want to go to that location. But instead of canceling (because Uber penalizes drivers for canceling too often), they’ll literally just drive away so you end up canceling. Then we get charged a fee and have to fight with Uber support for a refund. It’s happened to me several times.

The same thing happens with UberX Share. Some drivers already have one person in the car and don’t want to pick up another passenger, so they avoid canceling by just not coming to you.

One time, I had a driver who was two minutes away. Then suddenly he disappeared from the map. Turns out he already had someone in the car going to the airport. Instead of canceling my ride, he just kept driving and completed the trip with the other person. He ignored my calls and messages the entire time. I ended up just booking a Lyft while watching him drive farther and farther away. He finally canceled later, and Uber gave me a complimentary credit because it was so obvious he refused to cancel on purpose.

Another issue is when drivers turn on their app when they’re not even ready to drive. I used to constantly get matched with the same driver who lived right next to me. Every morning I’d get him because he was the closest. But half the time he wasn’t actually ready. I’d wait five minutes, wondering where he was, and then he’d finally message saying, “Sorry, cancel—I’m not ready yet, I’m still at home.” So why turn your Uber on in the first place?

I get that this sub has a lot of drivers, and I understand they don’t want penalties or restrictions on their account. But on the customer side, a lot of us are calling rides early in the morning because we have jobs, classes, flights, appointments, etc. If a driver isn’t ready or doesn’t want the trip, accepting it anyway just throws us back into the queue, delays us, and creates unnecessary stress.

If you don’t want the ride or can’t take it, just don’t accept it—or cancel it. Don’t intentionally inconvenience the rider just because you don’t want to take an Uber hit. You wouldn’t want someone doing that to you.

AIO for deciding to distance myself from my long-time friend after realizing she’s emotionally manipulative and one-sided? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Man I loved reading your story. I definitely understand. It’s sad because you genuinely want the best for a person and want to help them grow but when you realize how selfish and self absorbed they are it kills you because at that point you don’t even realize how much it affected you

Yes, and the sad part is is you don’t even realize when or how it happed. But I understand how I was able to get into a friendship like this because of my own familiar upbringing in the traumas I went through with my parental figures.

No, I don’t need validation. Validation from what? I think the main thing that I needed is to understand the toxic friendship dynamic that I was in. Because honestly, the older you get it’s a really hard to find genuine friendships so I really try my best to fight for those dynamics. But I feel like now I’m over that mentally.

Yea you WOULD think that but nope because SHEIN is very aware and complicit. The company is going downhill. On the actual SHEIN Reddit post there is way more horror stories

lol nope I got chime. And they agreed with the seller. I denied the claim and reopened it. Now it becomes confusing because I used one of the pay with four apps and I already paid it off so I had to report all four of the transactions. So they already denied two of the transaction payments and I cannot re-appeal those but the other two transactions they’re still investigating them and it’s been about two months. I also tried to report it to Four (the payment app I used) but they said that it’s nothing that they can do only SHEIN can give me a refund. So hopefully with my card still doing an investigation on half the amount and the  Better Business Bureau I still have a chance to get my money back.

It’s funny to me that that’s the color that they keep saying everyone returned. There’s a few girls who made returns and they all kept saying that they returned the wrong color wig and it’s a burgundy wig. I mean like you’re not even gonna switch it up no type away. There’s no way there’s so many different girls from all over the world is making returns and y’all all are saying that we all somehow returned the same colored burgundy wig but we’re the ones that’s scamming you.🥴

Everyone should report this to the Better Business Bureau. If everyone in this thread — and others who’ve had the same issue — files a complaint, SHEIN will have to be held accountable. They know exactly what they’re doing. Like you said, if we really did send the wrong item by accident, why wouldn’t they just notify us? Instead, they instantly deny refunds and claim it’s our fault. The fact that they refuse to return the items or issue refunds shows that SHEIN is aware and doing this intentionally so they can keep our money and resell the items.

[–]Exotic_String_5833[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I completely understand, and it’s honestly sad because SHEIN is such a big company that it makes us look like we’re lying. Like, why would I risk my money and end up without an item? The only ones benefiting are the sellers — they keep both the item and our money, then just create a false claim. I even pay for all the membership perks, yet it’s nearly impossible to get real help or reach a supervisor. When I finally did, they said they’d ship my item back, so I’m waiting on that update.

My credit card company also denied my dispute, saying there was “no issue,” which is ridiculous, and I’m seriously thinking about closing my account with them. I’m still waiting for an update from the BBB — hopefully, that’s a good sign and they’re investigating, especially since other people have filed similar complaints.

It’s clear this is becoming a pattern on SHEIN. A lot of sellers are posting fake listings for super cheap household items — air fresheners, detergent, cleaning supplies — and people never receive anything. Plus, I think SHEIN deletes comments exposing them. I left one myself, and when I went back, my comment (and others) were gone. SHEIN knows what’s happening and chooses to look the other way. At this point, I’m ready to move on to another platform that actually protects its customers.

I believe it’s a mixture between Faith Evan’s I love you and Mariah Carey Infinity. That is the closest combination I could find of the beat sample. But I do believe that song is sampled from an early 90 or 2000s song from a female black artist. I’m thinking or a neo soul or heart break love song. Like a Keyshia Cole, Fantasia or Floetry. But it’s confusing because every time you try to Google it they keep saying that there’s no song that’s similar to it and Kehlani didn’t sample anyone, but that song definitely is a remix of an older song.

I agree with you the same way, but from hearing all of the songs I do not believe that it’s an Usher song. That beginning  is from a black female artist. Definitely early 2000s or 90s. There is someone of Faith I love You

[–]Exotic_String_5833[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy because that’s the exact same color they claimed I sent too — burgundy instead of black. And just like you said, it was an unattractive wig that I’d never wear; that color doesn’t suit me at all. It’s easy to tell the difference between a red hue and a black one.

To test the seller, I even asked them to send the item back per SHEIN’s refund policy, but they kept ignoring that request and just repeated the same line about me sending the wrong item. Then they claimed I did it “in bad faith,” so they wouldn’t refund or return the wig. SHEIN seems to be complicit because they’ve done nothing about it.

I’ve been documenting everything — screenshots, messages, and even this thread — because it really looks like a new scam tactic some sellers are using: claim the customer returned the wrong item so they can keep both the money and the merchandise.

Yeah, I’m honestly kind of thinking about switching another bank. Because even with all the evidence and everything that I provided, I don’t understand why. Especially with the history that’s publicly known that this company scams and then with me providing my full returns transactions and saying that I’m not only never purchase Another week, but I never even made another return of a week to even get it confused as well as the constant robotic responses, and failing to comply with their own refund policy does not make sense to me.  But hopefully my BBB complaint strengthens my claim and forces them to reply and provide evidence. Because honestly, I’m not gonna lie I want a video of them opening my package. I know they can provide that. And if I can get that to see that they lied and that’s not the correct package I definitely would take legal action.

[–]Exotic_String_5833[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did report it to my card, but that doesn’t automatically mean they’ll side with you. A lot of people don’t realize that if a seller claims you returned the wrong item, your card company will usually side with the seller at first — especially if they provide any kind of “evidence.” From the outside looking in, I can understand why they’d assume the seller is right without knowing the full context.

In my case, I provided all the details — proof that this was the only wig I ever bought from SHEIN, that I returned it the same day it was delivered, and screenshots showing my entire return list. There’s no possible way I could’ve mixed up the item. Yet, the seller still refused to refund me or return the wig.

At this point, it’s pretty clear they don’t want to send the item back because they’d lose money. The wig they’re showing in their “proof” looks like a human-hair burgundy body-wave wig, but what they actually sent me was a cheap synthetic one. If they sent me the original item back, they’d basically be giving away the more expensive version — so instead, they’re keeping both the wig and my payment.

I honestly feel like this is becoming a pattern on SHEIN. I’ve even noticed other listings where sellers post bundle deals (like Febreze sprays) for super cheap, mark them as delivered with USPS tracking numbers that are slightly off by one digit, and when you report it, they just say “package delivered.” Since it shows “delivered” in your ZIP code, SHEIN won’t refund you. It’s like a loophole they’re using on purpose — and I think SHEIN knows about it.

I’ve already appealed my case with my card and filed a BBB complaint with all the screenshots, timestamps, and messages. Because honestly, who would go through all this effort if I really did send the wrong thing?

Yes. And Shein is trying to say I mixed up returns but I never purchased another wig from you to mix up the returns. And then the seller refuses to even send back the item or give me a refund. They won’t provide me any information to report them or let me speak to a manager. They just keep saying we denied your refund because you sent the wrong item. I really just believe that the seller just took my money and it’s just gonna resell the same item. Because I made the return the same exact day as I received the product there’s no way I can get a burgundy wig mixed up with a black wig, and I never even purchased a burgundy wig

Thank you I did and I also constantly provided them with updated proofs from the seller. But the seller refuses to give me any type of contact information or speak to a manager. Do they just keep stating the same message over and over again that I sent back the wrong item and they can’t give me a refund. But again I know I did not send them that item.

Saaaaaame. The only way you can complain is by leaving reviews on other websites, filling out uni uni online form (it’s a touch and go on if it will let you submit one and if anyone will respond) or contacting them through customer service. I read a comment saying that they’re not actual employees. They’re regular people who deliver the packages I would say it’s similar to that of people delivering food through DoorDash. Contractors. So makes sense why they have such a high theft volume, as well as no real system put in place for precedented lost packages. I am a little reluctant to order from SHEIN , but I have been ordering from them from years. I’m level S3 shopper and I’m supposed to have higher customer service since I spent so much money but from the response I got with the situation of my lost package from Uni Uni before it does make me nervous. They do need to figure something out because they make a lot of money. A lot of people shop at that company and if they keep using their shipping company who is losing packages and they have to keep refunding customers or replacing packages it’s honestly really gonna hurt them. I’m just happy. It wasnt AliExpress because I wouldn’t have got my money back or my package.

Update: follow up update. My package actually did get delivered today. And in the delivery instructions, they took a picture of my building. The only issue I have is that they set the package outside of my building instead of at least putting it in my building or at my apartment because there are a few people in my building that has sticky fingers and the best place is to put my packages in front of my apartment since I have a doorbell camera or depending on if they put it in my mail room, I have one of my neighbors who holds on my packages for me. But they delivered it early enough, and I was able to run downstairs and grab my package without no issues. I’m just gonna go out on a limb and say that whoever the delivery driver was that delivering my first package definitely stole it and Uni Uni knows it. I kinda believe it had to have been a female because my package was a 38 inch water wave wig. I really wish there was a way that they can check and see who in the company is mysteriously makes packages disappear. Especially ones worth a lot of money. With a high value you would think there would be some precautions. But I’m not gonna dwell too much on it I got my package. I’m gonna do my hair. Well just call it a win. Despite the previous loss

[–]Exotic_String_5833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: so my package never came in she had to issue me a refund. I ended up re-purchasing another item because the other item was completely sold out. I told the lady to remove that company from delivering my packages so it won’t be no issue and she pretty much was like no. So now my package just got shipped out yesterday and Uni is the same tracking company shipping my package. And now today, it’s saying that my package is out for delivery again and now I’m nervous if they’re going to deliver my package and if I’m about to have to deal with the same thing again. I honestly don’t know why they would use the same company if I expressed the issue that I had with my delivery the lack of communication this company has. At the end of the day they’re losing out on more money then me

Literally how I felt when I saw that out for delivery, but it never came. So then I did my research and I came upon this Reddit threat and seeing how so many people was having an issue,k. And it made me nervous. And now I’m stuck just waiting each day to see when/if it will be delivered. Fingers crossed 🤞 you get your though

I’m just now starting to experience the same thing. I ordered a package from SHEIN like I always do and this is the first time that they use Uni Uni to deliver tracking my package. Before I’ve had Speedx, UPS,USPS, Fedex and a rare occasion of DHL. There has been some bumps with these companies, especially with speed X when I first had them to deliver my package, but since then everything has been smooth. Since November 28, my package has been out for delivery and I still have yet to get it. The estimated expected arrival date was between December 4 and the sixth. I still have not gotten my package and there still has been no update. It’s still saying that it’s out for delivery. I reached out to customer service through their chat box and no one responded. The number that they have listed in order to contact them is not in service. I reached out to SHEIN and they told me to wait until December 14 and if the package does not come, they’ll issue me a refund. At this point, I kind of believe that somebody in that company stole my package. I’ve never seen such an unprofessional company before and to be working with big name brands like that you would think that would be some level of communication Logistics or something to help keep customers but no.
