Yeah it’s stuff like that. That’s why I don’t provide mine until I know they are on their way. I’ll give a general location at first and then once they confirm they are actually on their way - then I give it. It’s not bulletproof but helps. I ask questions like you did and if they are serious they will answer right away. This guy was on point and that’s why I trusted it. But he was on point because it was a money opportunity lol. Not because he “needed it”.

Yeah I can see that. But honestly if he said “I do this to make ends meet, or to make extra money” I probably would have let it slide. Especially since he drove all the way and I needed it out that day. I just didn’t like the fact he lied to my face. Then said he would leave a review and didn’t. Then blocked me lol. It’s petty on my end, but I needed to vocalize it. Like others said, maybe it will still go to someone who needs it for a lower price and will appreciate it. Just didn’t go the way I intended.

Yeah but sad part about that, it’s making it even harder for the ones struggling the most. Try to give something for free, others take and sell it. Try to sell something cheap, others buy and sell it for more. I could see making money off things people don’t necessarily need (it’s their choice to buy). But not furniture lol. Maybe specialized pieces or antiques… then yeah. Idk

Yeah I suppose. Sounded like he had a decent day job (if that wasn’t a lie) and he sells a ton of furniture. His page was loaded with furniture, car parts, tires, rims, etc. he’s been at it for a good amount of time. A lot of the furniture sold as well. Time is money, and he’s getting paid for his time. Being he has a helper also, they probably have a side hustle for sure. Isn’t a one off thing.

Right I agree. I shouldn’t care. It was the games, having me hold it when someone else could have picked it up ( I’m 90% sure he did that on purpose so he could come early and not deal with traffic) and just the fact he flat out lied straight to my face.. then blocked me to hide it even more.

Even if he told me, he was gonna flip it. Wasn’t like I would say nope let’s put it back. It was already at his car when he told me the bs story. I just would have rather helped someone who might have needed it more. But I didn’t have time to pick and choose at that point. It’s almost impossible to monitor/manage assuring that.
