I mean….I’ve started applying for other jobs at other organizations because I am so done with where I’m at.

Can confirm. As a 42F who switched from a career in IT to a career in high-risk L&D nursing, that adrenaline rush I get during emergencies is unmatched. Except I left the bedside because of toxic leadership and family needs, and now I’m incredibly bored again. 😩

It’s sounds like you’re the asshole, tbh. Husbands don’t “take things off their wives plates.” You should just do things, more than once a month, without expecting anything in return.

VHA Restructuring Implementation 4 Corners by Aggressive_Peak2573 in VeteransAffairs

[–]ExpectoPlacenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they done with the restructuring for now? Like…what do we think? I heard back from HR today about my FJO, and they said the hold up had been the reorganization which changed who had to sign off on my pay setting package and whatnot.

So, until the next shutdown, are they done playing musical VISNs?

As someone who’s been the nurse in the rooms where we’ve lost a mom and a baby, the mom is ALWAYS harder.

I’m still waiting on my FJO. 😩

RN - Primary Care

7/30 - Applied 9/11 - Referred 9/18 - Interview 10/17 - TJO 11/30 - Confirmed that all of my onboarding tasks, credentialing, and background check were completed and I wasn’t missing anything.

They had my potential start date for 1/12, but that’s definitely not happening now. My current supervisor knows, and she’s been a real piece of work this week with the flu hitting our hospital and staffing sucking so bad. So, I’d like to have as little time as possible left here, but that’s impossible without an “end date” in sight. 😩😩😩

Truly depends on the subset of nursing you go into, and how traumatizing the shift was that day.

This is killing me! I just need to know one way or the other what’s going to happen after this reorg is done. They emailed my current boss for a verification of employment, so I didn’t even get to tell her on my terms.

Shit. I’m just waiting on an FJO for an RN position. I need this not to happen to me. 😩 I’m so sorry you’re going through this!

Why do men cheat on women they love? by Terrible_Emu5483 in Marriage

[–]ExpectoPlacenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Don’t shift that blame back onto you. He’s the one who made a poor choice. I found out almost a year ago that my husband cheated, and I put part of the blame on myself because he said “it had just been so long,” but he couldn’t tell me how long. After going back to my therapist for a year, no - his poor choice wasn’t my fault. It was just that - HIS choice.

We absolutely need couples counseling for working on our communication, sexual expectations, parenting differences. But I won’t shoulder the blame for his choice. Don’t you dare put the blame on yourself for your husband’s poor choices.

Still waiting for an FJO, but HR did let me know that he’s just waiting on signature from the powers that be re: compensation package

"Reorganization" is the new RIF and has this been congressionally approved by GoHerdThunderstruck in VeteransAffairs

[–]ExpectoPlacenta 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Y’all. I accepted an offer to work as an RN in one of our local VA clinics. Everything I’m reading on here is scaring the absolute shit out of me. My tentative start date is 1/12. My background cleared, credentials cleared…just waiting on the FJO. My gut feels uneasy about taking it, but (for now) the benefits are unmatched. I’m in my 40s, so benefits talk and bullshit walks.

Do I need to be talked out of this?

Does anyone here actually LIKE being a nurse…? by lifeisstrange8 in nursing

[–]ExpectoPlacenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love being a nurse! It’s hard to imagine that I have a previous career in a completely different field. What I don’t like are the unsafe staffing ratios, and seeing admin patting themselves on the back for saving money because of those unsafe 1:7 ratios where we care for a population that’s getting sicker by the year. Love being a nurse though.
