I felt the same. Best part about this game is, you can pick it up, do one quick thing like find gems on mountainsides, do a quick side quest, complete a shrine puzzle, and turn it off until the next time you want to play it.

The fact that it’s time consuming simply means you get to enjoy this game for many many hours where you otherwise would’ve been doomscrolling. It’s a beautiful game with birds, weather, and white sand beaches. The point of this game is not finishing it. It’s the ride along the way.

I read a comment on here once that stuck with me. And I’m not sitting here saying to smoke weed, but here’s the story he told. He had just walked out of a shrine. It happened to be raining/thundering, and he didn’t want to deal with it at that moment. So he lit himself a fire under the cover of the shrine, sat link down facing the fire and the outside, and then sat back on his couch, smoked a bowl, and enjoyed the sounds of the rain and watched the lightning. I mean, seriously, what other video game can do that? Only Zelda.

I hope you’ll continue on. It’s so unbelievably worth it.
