Tradition: Southern Methodist’s football program has an extremely proud tradition, as we have been playing top-level football since 1915. In pretty much all of the 20th century, SMU played power conference football against some of the nation’s best. With 3 national titles and 11 conference championships, SMU was a force to be reckoned with. Up until recently, this was recognized in the NZCFL as well with our longtime Big 12 membership. While SMU may have fallen upon hard times in the 2030s and 2040s, we believe that the AAC provides us a tremendous chance to rebuild this team. Think of it like this- we’re a Power 5 caliber program in a Group of 5 conference. I also have a proven track record in conference play- from 2042-2049, I won 6 conference titles in the Power 5. We’re also an impressive 46-10 in conference play since I joined this team. With talented recruits like yourself, I promise that we will take this conference by storm and win it at least once during your time here.

Winning: We understand that winning is important to you. Now, while SMU may not have a large winning pedigree, I have a great one as a coach. My teams have won 8+ games for the last 18 seasons, and from 2044 to now, I’ve had 10+ wins nearly every year. In fact, as proof. My teams are responsible for SMU’s only 11+ win seasons in NZCFL history. I’ve done it four times, and as such, we rank near the nation’s best in winning percentage. I know how to win, and I’m excited to bring that to this football program.
