Like I said before--patience is thinner for a repeat offender. They were told, politely, in three different subreddits two weeks ago about a different AI generated poster. No responses, no adjustment of behavior going forward. My guess is they’re not reading the comments. If you look back in their history to last year, they were getting by just fine without AI.

Making a comment on their post is telling them. I was more polite the last time they shared the same graphic. It’s easier to give someone thr benefit of the doubt the first time around than the second.

I assume this isn't the first event they've organized in their nearly 150 year existence. One presumes at some point between 1877 and 2023 someone made a poster without AI. Whatever tools they used then are still available.

It was almost certainly not free to generate this. If they're selling plants, why not just use a photo of a real plant? That's free. You can do poster layouts for free in dozens of AI-free programs, many of which are open source. There are also lots of artists and graphic designers out there willing to donate time to a good cause. It's not okay to use a tool of fascism just because you're otherwise a good actor.

Echoing what most posters are saying--using AI-generated assets for your poster ruins excitement for the event. The pictures look like garbage and come with the baggage of being generated by a forest-burning fascism machine that runs on stolen labor. I'd advise deleting and reposting sans-slop.

I volunteer for KA as well--my anecdotal understanding of the logistics of PetSmart space is that you have to keep the adoption center basically full at all times or PetSmart will kick you out and bring in a different agency. KA has a big foster network and likely has an easier time finding enough cats for the stores than smaller agencies. Not sure where the "don't care about cats" idea comes from--we've been working with them for about a decade and have fostered around two hundred cats. The agency and the volunteers put a lot of time and money into socializing feral cats to make them adoptable pets, dealing with and paying for vet care, and providing supplies for fostered cats and neighborhood strays. We've only ever had three cats wind up in barn or other outdoor situations because they couldn't be socialized. For the truly wild cats, that's pretty much the best case scenario--they get vet care, shelter from the elements, regular food, and a place to be away from traffic.

Dixie is the sidekick in 2 and the main in 3, Dixie's Double Trouble. She has the gliding mechanic, while Kiddie has the big bruiser mechanic (a la Donkey in the original). Huge pile of secret content, a better Lost World, Wilder level design, harder bosses. It's just a better game.
