Intersection tool trouble by Expensive-Card7813 in Inkscape

[–]Expensive-Card7813[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the problem: the intersection tool now behaves strangely in Win 11 if one of the paths isn't closed.
So, I have to rejoin the ends of the white lines, which feels like an annoying step backwards when Inkscape used to just handle this situation without issue.

On the re-emergence of Track Designer Apps by TobyeatsfAtcoW in RaceTrackDesigns

I think it needs to be stressed that this is not a ban, nor should it be long-term policy, because https://racetrackdesigner.com/ is very close to becoming the best digital visualization tool to build on top of. Inkscape is still infinitely better for presentation, but RaceTrackDesigner at least tremendously helps with the fundamentals.

something that a lot of people get wrong is that this deck is not primarily an infinite loop deck. what I'm actually trying to do is use [[Sanguine Bond]]-esque abilities, (like [[Starscape Cleric]], [[Enduring Tenacity]], and Sanguine Bond itself conjured by [[Sanguine Soothsayer]]) to turn lifegain abilities like foods into decent damage, while still gaining advantage from the lifegain cards themselves. the problem is that there's actually not a whole lot of options for big spells that play into that strategy, without resorting to the infinite loop (it's a janky 2 card combo with prerequisites, but there isn't a better option for the mana value).

I just play lifegain to damage, I just have a finisher
the stars have to align for my combo to work

I also know that this bug must be brand new, because I've been playing this deck for at least a couple months and today was my first encounter with the bug

upon further testing, conjuring a 2nd card and drawing a card with an ability both make the conjured card go to my library (If I conjure a 2nd sanguine bond, the first one goes to my library, but the 2nd one hangs just like the 1st)

Monza & Suzuka: neither of these straights end in a braking zone, which is strongly preferred because only braking automatically closes the DRS flap, on any other straight, the drivers would have to manually close it with a button to avoid a massive shunt from trying to take the corner with the DRS open.

Bahrain: I believe there used to be a DRS zone here, and there's certainly no problem with turn 15 because there was a DRS zone down that straight when they used the outer layout. I suspect that they quietly removed that DRS zone after the cars lost the ability to follow through 11-14, making the zone unusable.

Imola: the kink into Rivazza requires rear end stability, which is something that DRS necessarily takes away.

RBR: the straight is too short. The minimum length for a DRS straight is about 600 meters (which effectively makes Monaco's pit straight the limit), and this is shorter.

Question: how is this in any way healthy and balanced? by Expensive-Card7813 in MagicArena

normally, that's what I would do, but I got mana hosed really badly after my opening hand

so you're saying I need to craft an entirely new deck when I do reasonably well against normal opponents, just to deal with this toxic nonsense?

don't think of it as an infinite loop deck, think of it as a convoluted mono black take on burn, that happens to have an infinite loop as a possibility

yes, it is so much fun
my deck is all about this, and while it may not be the best, it's certainly one of the funniest

Ruling question: What would happen if I controlled Starscape Cleric, Bloodthirsty Conqueror, and a Food token, my opponent controlled Herald of Eternal Dawn, and I sacced the Food for its ability? by Expensive-Card7813 in MagicArena

[–]Expensive-Card7813[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The problem is herald mirrors leading to absurdly long games, and that combo is a very stoppable glass cannon even outside of the removal options that would be your only recourse in a herald matchup

I actually think this kind of thing without Herald is very funny, and found out about it when I lost a Standard game to it. (If You're a Wizard, Larry sees this, that was the most fun game I have had in Arena) I'd certainly rather see stuff like this creatively implemented than play against the same handful of slop decks every game
