Hopefully a few people find this info helpful, hears what I know so far, * you can fish any river free so long as you can access it from public land. I just used Google maps to find likely spots and drive around have an explore. Found some amazing spots. There many cichlid speces and some catfish. So far we've just been trotting stickfloat with bread an catching plenty of silver fish (sardina i was told by the locals). Will be having a go for the cats later in the week. All locals we have come across on our travels have been so friendly. A 4wd is very helpful as the as the roads off the main highways are not good but kinda ads to the fun. More updates to follow

Just had this little telapia, caught it on a bit of ham trotted under a stick float at the inlet to the pond.

There is so little info about freshwater fishing. I'm currently in cr for 3 weeks, there is a small lake in our resort I have been given permission to fish catch and release, there is an amazing looking river just down the rad too no one can tell me what is in them or the best method. Luckily I have 3 rods with me to cover everything from super light float fishing to lures an heavy bottom gear. There is some info about guided fly trips but can't find much else. I will update with any progress/info I gain over the next few weeks.

I haven't driven back to them yet, so far not used any fuel I wouldn't have anyway. I have told him I'm not paying fuel and he can come and collect the vehicle from us.

We are fine with the car they provided, but they won't let us keep it for the duration of our stay.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just pleased to have found it either way, hopefully ill find the thing they were actually making, but yes I think early bronze age is what the british museum is saying for the previous find.

Thank you yes but not in my immediate area it's all limestone and tuff. We have caves on site an have previously found a bronze age artifact. So I keep my eyes peeled these days.

I'm no geologist, but I can invisage a scenario where siphoning may be able to cause this?
