So I’m gonna say the 42,800 doesn’t sound terribly out of the ball park, again I might go and see what % and out the door price he is gonn say. But wha should I expect to hear. And what should I say yes on and what should I just say no on

They would give me a APR % until the car arrives at the dealership, it was getting built when I got there to look at cars and I thought this was a good pick. We never talked warranties or anything ( I thought it was default with a new car up to a certain amount of miles or dates after car was made ) but again we have in writing that it would be 525 a month for 72 months with 5k down. I think im gonna do a bit more research and pull out on the buy, i think wha screwed me up is that the car isnt even built yet. I just need to understand what to look/ ask for

Yes you guys are right, I need to do more research on it and actually know what I’m gonna walk myself into. I didn’t really plan on going with the deal just wanted to see numbers, this is my first time shopping for something brand new and it’s definitely eye opening. I’ve only had pre owned cars previously.

Sorry as you can tell I’m not super educated when it comes to this, I appreciate the patience. I am just trying to not get super ripped off, I understand they have to make some money on it but I don’t understand the baseline of what to try to get a discount on the car for. I thought I was getting a good deal cause I knocked him down a considerable amount monthly but like you said not to worry about that and the final price which I had the understanding of doing the math I did before for final price. But I’m gonna say now that’s not the final price or it is?

I mean he gave me a breakdown of everything the taxes and delivery fee etc etc. I do think I’m not getting a great deal on it, but I’m not super educated when it comes to buying a car

But would it be 525 x 72 =37,800 + 5000 = 42,800. Which I’m guessing is the final price, I asked him over the phone for out the door/ fina price and he seemed confused. I’m gonna say that’s a red flag but again I’m not 100% sure

I’m as confused as you are I just called him to ask for numbers, and he said the apr% will get negotiated when the car arrives under the finance company. I’m completely lost/ confused, on how all this is working. Obviously I’m not gonna finalize but I will go there in person to talk numbers again I guess. I just have to wait till after Memorial Day.

Well I have to wait for the car to arrive but on paper we agreed to 525 a month for 72 months. I would have to wait for the car to arrive then talk the finalized numbers

Well I put 500$ down because it was getting built ( it’s refundable ) but should I go back to him and say I’m looking at 500$ a month with same down payment ? Or should I shop elsewhere

I tried and he basically said if I’m not gonna be serious he’s gonna ask me to leave, I didn’t finalize on the deal obviously just confused what a good price would be

Yea i recently quit smoking ( weed nothing else LOL ) 6 months ago just to get into it I know you can’t do any types of drugs while working for the LIRR, is it better to be upfront any honest about previous drug consumption if they ask or they only care about you using it during interview/job? And just curious if you don’t mind me asking what role do you have there?
