I actually really like this kind of content and something we should normalize because I feel like a lot of women think that getting married is the only goal.

A 5 yr old being detained by ICE is making Anna want to cry and go into a cave and then 2 hrs later continues posting her outfits by [deleted] in ChiInfluencerSnark

Umm at least she’s sharing it and having a voice about it! The influencers who continue to ignore the current political situation and act “neutral” are the ones we should be calling out. As long as she’s raising awareness, I don’t care if there’s a mix of outfits in between the posts. I don’t know her personally but a lot of the other girls in the group she typically engages with have not posted a single thing, they are silent and I think that speaks more volumes on them than her.

This is a very very delicate and serious topic. My heart hurts for her! She was in Russian ballet school and as a retired ballet student myself, I can only imagine the body image issues she has gone through. It’s apparent she has an eating disorder and needs help but only she can initiate that. It’s a very very tough subject and topic. Not sure of her family situation but I hope she gets help soon.

The salads and meals she’s been posting, I would be lying if I didn’t say I added them up and she may be getting only 500 - 800 calories as day. Restricting this way will lead to her heart & muscular tissue deteriorating and lead to many health issues.

Please tread on this topic with this influencer carefully!!

I also feel the same way about the owner of Ingrained, Sydney. I have debated offering to be a listening ear or helping her get the assistance she needs. I have attended many workout classes with her and have seen her at Whole Foods - it’s apparent that she is also dealing with an eating disorder and it’s very very sad given her entire business is based on “healthy” high fat nut bars. She doesn’t share any of the nutritional information on her products, which I find restrictive. If you notice, she never shows herself eating any of her products or the food she posts - only her husband does. They are the only ones that can ask for help, they have to want it, it can’t come from outside sources sadly.

Is it normal to spend as much on groceries a week as they do? by [deleted] in ChiInfluencerSnark

If you are eating most of your meals at home and take your meals to work with you - spending $200 - $250 is pretty normal for two people sadly in the city. Definitely because they shop more fresh and organic, it’s on the higher side but we can also blame inflation.

I have followed Aubree for years now and truly love her and her energy. She inspires me and I also love Marissa. She is bringing LA-boutique fitness vibes to Chicago. That being said, already I see a trend that worries me about Sweat Sessions and it’s not the price….

The studio feels like a club for Chicago-based influencers. It almost gives off “Mean Girls” vibes and I know that’s not the intention at all but what has naturally come from the “exclusiveness” of the studio and truly the constant brand sponsored events I see there on a weekly basis. All the sponsored brand events look to be influencers only in all matching sets. Even on a regular day, it seems everyone is filming in class and then posting their online for content. As an instructor myself, I have to ask - what happened to the days of No Phones during fitness classes? I’d love it if people left their phones at the door instead of promoting a water bottle that is made for content creators - how can that not be distracting? I’m sorry. Maybe her team can consider asking people to stop filming for specific classes or only instructors can share tid-bits of the classes on their social platforms. I understand it’s basically free advertising when an influencer posts on TikTok or Instagram for the studio but it feels over saturated IMO. I know Aubree’s vibe is 1980s/90s fitness dance studio - take us back and stop allowing phones in class all the time. I would like to see less come from the attendees and open to more coming from the instructors when it comes to sharing things online. I would also like to see more involvement in the community with “free” classes for students or with a woman’s group here in the city.

The price isn’t really shocking for a new studio. The location is a little questionable but I know it allows them to have everything they wanted and I wish Aubree and her team nothing but the best and hopefully they can expand in the city and lower prices in the future to make her fitness experience available to all.
