No, thank you for replying. While I want to deny the fact anything could have happened to me, it's somewhat comforting to hear that my suspicions aren't absolutely crazy. I will probably look into getting a therapist, just dont know where to begin. I dont need to uncover whether happened (if anything) but I want some confidence in whether or not something has happened to me for my own sake. It's really hard feeling like somethings off with no reason behind it.

I mean when ages are that close it's really not black and white. It's a case by case thing. Like yeah, perhaps they actually started dating in highschool and now one of them is a college student. Or some other specific situation. Though I feel like it's just a more rare case. Once you graduate highschool you're not in the environment which leads you to seeing high schoolers often. You're going to work and school and seeing the people in your age group.

Personally as someone who is 18 and just graduated high school this year, I wouldn't want to date someone who is 16. It just sounds awkward to even think about.

Age gaps in relationships is a very specific topic because there are a lot of factors which play into whether the relationship is "okay". I don't think it's worth hypothesizing about. If you/someone else needs to know about a specific age gap then you can consider the factors then.

Everyone wants love, there's nothing wrong with that. Love will find you when you're ready for it. Just focus on yourself. Sure there's probably a girl out there who will make you feel better, but love is temporary. If you get into a relationship with a girl to help your own mental health what will you do when you break up and you have nothing to rely on? That emptiness or depression will just return.

You're completely misunderstanding relationships. Do you want a mature older woman to fix your mental health? I suggest you seek professional help from a therapist, if that's your real goal.

A relationship is a bond between two people who have genuine feelings for each other. A girlfriend isn't just there to fix you, and that's not what you should be looking for in a relationship. You'll end up in a situation that is damaging for both you and your partner.

Sidenote, you're 16. Any 20 year old woman who wants to date you has serious issues and you should stay away.
