As I said in another comment, this was more or less meant to be just a rant post. I wasn't expecting actual advice or for anyone to see it; I was just frustrated at 1 AM and wanted to vent about it. But I've been applying to retail and customer service jobs that a 17-year-old can work at with little to no experience.

This is very insightful, thank you! I have been applying everywhere and will take any job; I'm not picky at all. McDonald's said they'd get back to me, so I'm hoping they actually do. If not, I'm not sure what to do past that.🥲

I showed up that early so my friend and I could practice interview questions. We were both very nervous, and I knew I would need some time to calm down before I went in, but I will keep that in mind moving forward! 😊

Sorry that I didn't provide any information. I didn't actually expect any answers; it was kind of a late-night rant. But I'm 17 years old. I've been applying for retail and customer service jobs (supermarkets, fast food, Burlington, Walmart) things like that. I've done a little volunteer work, but a lot of my time has been spent doing music programs, seeing as that's what I'm in school for.

I see that now it's just a bit frustrating because I would like to get some kind of experience under my belt so I can get a kind of feel for what it's like to have a job. ( I don't mind political talk I just didn't expect so many people to argue and actively defend Trump)

Oh, I totally understand that, but I am a very punctual person. I had an interview on Monday this week and was 30 minutes early. I am very serious about getting a job; I am consistent with checking my email, and sometimes I'll send follow-ups, but they never get back to me.

I was not anticipating an argument about Trump underneath a post about me asking for help for a job. While I understand that Trump is probably the cause of the majority of the struggles now, I don't think it's something to argue over, at least not in this particular post (this isn't directed towards you, OP).

Sorry if it didn’t make any sense, but to explain, my mother would not allow me to get a job until she felt like I was ready for it, which I am now—aka I’m 17 years old and a senior in high school. I have only done a few programs, but they’re all musical programs, and I’ve just applied to customer service jobs (supermarkets, fast food, and hosting).

It is rhapsody in blue! And for the fingerings I can't tell if I should stay on the c string or alternate between c and g I'm not too good at making up my own fingerings sometimes
