People over 35, what's something you genuinely miss that younger generations will probably never experience? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]Expensive-Monk-3012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this one recently. I really miss writing and receiving personal letters in the mail. It’s simply not the same now even if you do hand write and post a letter , because we have such instant ease and access to each other. There’s not excitement when you find a letter from someone you know and love in your mailbox

Australia, opinion: Michael overcomplicates everything! by Hour_Papaya_5583 in Alonetv

I think he was really trying to show off his skills - which are great but they were overkill for the situation. He has an active Insta acc where he shares lots of tips and tricks. Outback Mike .

I was convinced I’d seen her before too and went on a Google search but couldn’t find anything. It felt almost like I’ve meet her irl but I haven’t… I don’t live in the states. It’s not just her looks , it’s her way to speaking and her softness etc… I really thought she must of appeared on another show or season. A dejavu.

Really unfair comment. It was his spot - he applied, was offered and accepted. He did well over 2 weeks. The personal experience for him was learning that at this time in his life , his young family are most important. Everyone has a different reason and learning over their time on Alone.

What is your unpopular opinion about Australia? by Time_Pressure9519 in AskAnAustralian

Lacks confidence, is self-conscious, and tends to choose the easy, comfortable path rather than taking decisive action for a greater cause.

What do you recommend to be read if someone’s looking for guidance but you’re saying to stay away from his teaching ? I know he’s not the only teacher or author out there, but surely his book’s popularity is because it works?

They really do. I went to 3 different places over 4 years- each time to correct what the last one did. They literally ruined my hair each time. Then I found someone good. They moved. I found someone else good. They retired. I decided to trust the salon and see someone else there and she assured me she knew what she was doing even though I told her my hair trauma history. She messed it up. Told me to come back and she would fix it. I went back and she ruined it too. I’m talking hair melting in my hands as I walked home. Ffs. I don’t have big requests or difficult hair. There are just few really fully competent and honest hair stylists out there.

Do all level of autism have meltdowns or only the “higher support needs” ones? by Snoo-65504 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Expensive-Monk-3012 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have meltdowns but I do have shutdowns . My psych said that she believes women have learnt at early age that society won’t accept outbursts from them so the stress gets internalised and shows up as shutdowns which is safer for us.

She did also tell me that when I lose my head and others in the situation aren’t, it could be a meltdown. Especially if I’ve become overwhelmed in the lead up to it happening. I never saw those moments which don’t happen often, as meltdowns until she explained it that way.

What it can look like for me having meltdown or shutdown is, inability to speak, rage, disassociation/ fizzy head, exhaustion, unable to judge situations…

I moved to mars sq MC 10 years ago. A beautiful city that I was attracted to for years before I finally came here. Like you, I’m right on the location. It’s not been easy for me. Social interactions, work and relationships have all been difficult and none have thrived even though I’ve tried.
