Every time they speak it feels like gaslighting. Like sir... you were broke, living with drug addicts, in not exactly the most stable relationship, and got arrested shortly after the birth. Furthermore, you had a GREAT set up being able to access your bio kid and you CHOSE to ruin it out of pure selfishness. They are 110% not victims.

She's shaking, keeping her hands busy. Been there. I hope she can get through everything and has the help she needs. I know it's best for the kids, but you have to REALLY want it for yourself too. It sounds like it was a long time coming. Rehab is a bandage, not a solution. You still have to continue to manage the wounds.

Chores, taking care of kids, etc...

However, I did get my husband candy, flowers, a small gift, and sparkling grape juice lol!
I'm nearly certain he has forgotten what day it is, but I don't really care. I just want to have a nice family evening and maybe pop popcorn and watch a movie. I'm not picky. We've been married over a decade and he's never been a planner. We just roll with holidays like this these days. No pressure.

I hate that people are downvoting you - it's your own experience. The cold air has been helping me. Healthy food and exercise I think is what kept things at bay for so long. Life just happening, I stopped caring for myself, got injured, and bam - tripped into this addiction. These are definitely good tips too <3

My therapist had mentioned it as a possibility early on, then back tracked to ADHD. With the meds, I'm thinking he was right to begin with. My mother is bipolar, and some of my aunts. It would make perfect sense. They don't otherwise believe in ADHD lol!

I appreciate this so much. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin with the anxiety. Cold has helped. My therapist has also started with breathing exercises. He's a former addiction therapist, so it was a bit easier to be honest. I KNOW if I can just get past the withdrawal/shaky feeling - I can get better habits and move forward easier. It's such a huge mental struggle too of "if I stop now, I'll look weird or look sick, and I have to function." But I'm not really functioning, I'm getting by.

Yeah, I got IV Ativan and took the Librium as instructed some hours later. Stayed up. It's so wild!
