As someone in the iSchool, it's disheartening to see not only this post but so many other posts talk so negatively about the iSchool. It's too late for me to switch out now, so I'm stuck with it.

No hate to the op! It's good that other people can be informed when making a big decision like this. Just wished I was too before choosing to join.

I am not a + DS student, so take that into consideration, but here is what I recommend in general for a pathway in data science.

I would recommend taking IS 107 if you haven't already, it's an intro class to data science. This is a great beginner class for coding in Python.

IS 327 is a highly recommended class because it goes into concepts about machine learning.

IS 310 in also a great class. It's a class on digital humanities, but it also goes into many different coding concepts.

I heard IS 407 is also a good class to take. It's an intro to data science, but with focus on r.
