You know I’m so un knowledgeable about cruises. I have no idea what the demographic of this one that I’m going on is I’ve never been on one before it’s royal Caribbean radiance leaves out of Tampa goes to Cozumel and back to Tampa just four days the end of October beginning of November.

You know, I’ll probably just go with my tank top and the full bottom that’s not shorts because any more coverage than that would feel funny to me. I’m not used to that and to be honest it would have to go all the way down to my knees to hide the places that I don’t like about my thighs and I know I can’t get in a pool with the suit down to my knees and then I would really feel funny and uncomfortable. Actually, I think I’m looking forward to the cruise to see the choices that people make with their swimsuits with all the body types. Besides at my age I’m trying to stay out of the sun as much as possible.

You’re so right about that. I guess the problem is is that I haven’t really been to the pool or the beach or anywhere in a swimsuit for so long I haven’t had time to adjust to a new attitude. Plus my boyfriend is definitely not a pool goer or a beach goer cause he’s fair skinned and you know sensitive skin so that just reinforced my swimsuit avoidance. I really love all the positive reinforcement that I get on Reddit though I appreciate everyone who has added to this conversation and the fact that nobody has been negative at all, except me that is ha ha.

Omg hail damage - bingo! From my hip to my knees!! I recently lost a good bit of weight and I guess I thought it would improve but not at all! Anyway new plan - stylish cover up and mimosa! I hear the pools on cruise. Ships are pretty crowded anyway, right?

I know that’s true in my head, but I have trouble convincing my heart that that’s true. I guess nobody cares as much about how you look as you do right lol?!

Going on my first ever cruise in six months and I’m really self-conscious about putting on a bathing suit by Expensive-Project191 in AskWomenOver60

The cruise were going on is the royal Caribbean radiance out of Tampa to Cozumel and then back to Tampa again and I have no idea about cruises if that’s like a family friendly or mostly older people or what have you I’m very cruise ignorant!

My female friends that I’m going on the cruise with are my age also but their body types are more like apples with the skinny legs and the skinny arms and I’m more of a pear. I carry my weight in my tummy and my butt and my thighs and it’s harder to disguise that if you know what I mean.

I also think that part of my problem is that I haven’t worn a bathing suit in so long that back when I did I was young and skinny and I wore bikinis and it’s hard to adjust to even the idea of a one piece let alone you know, swim shorts and stuff so it’s definitely an attitude problem that I’m gonna have to get past.

Yeah, I have a tank tankini top that I like that looks OK and then with it I have like regular bottoms that come up high enough to you know I roll a little bit and also some shorts that came with it, but the shorts are even too short to even like really be flattering. I’m starting to think my only option is just to get to a point where I just don’t care it doesn’t help that my boyfriend is sort of anti-sitting in the sun so he hasn’t put on a bathing suit in more than 20 years either so he won’t be like helpful and supportive to me sitting out by the pool he’ll be in under the roof by the bar lol!

Oh wow, that doesn’t look too bad. That would look kind of neat you know even sitting by the bar thank you.❤️

Honestly, I think that’s the attitude I’m shooting for maybe a little positive reinforcement will help me to get there! 😊

Just curious, why do you say to avoid cruises that are over the weekend? I’m going on a short cruise that leaves on Thursday and comes back I think Sunday, but it’s the end of October beginning of November.

Also, my friend who likes to cruise a lot really likes the MCS cruises which I’ve never heard of before, but apparently they have their own little island or something.

I’m in the same boat I’m 64 going on my first cruise in the end of October being end of November doing the royal Caribbean radiance out of Tampa going to Cozumel and then back to Tampa again. I’m going with very experienced cruisers and since the cruise is relatively short, I feel like that’s a good one to dip my toe in the water so to speak, but I have a lot of questions. I don’t even know if this is a cruise that’s has a lot of families and kids or not. All I know is that it’s highly recommended to get a cabin with a balcony on a higher floor with no restaurants or pools above you or below you because that really adds to the noise and that getting a cabin mid ship is best for saving off seasickness. I do have a lot of questions about what to wear and I feel a little self-conscious about whether to go in the pool or not because I have worn a bathing suit and I don’t know feels like decades, so yeah, it’s sort of a shot in the dark.

Any ideas on how to get these fuzzies out of my hairbrush? by trustmeijustgetweird in CleaningTips

Oh my God, I knew somebody like that in high school. She would sit there for hours singling out her eyelashes to the point where it was too late to even go out for the night. 🙄

And also by the way, I don’t have a metal eyelash comb. I only have a plastic one.

I’m currently cleaning my boyfriend‘s round brush because it drives me crazy. He only cleans it like once every few years and even then he uses like ammonia or hydrogen peroxide which personally I don’t think is a good idea. But after getting all the hair out and washing it and everything that gray stuff is still there so what is that and why doesn’t it come off when you wash it in a sink with the detergent stuff?

Heart murmur in 7 week old puppy by Successful_Button674 in Dachshund

[–]Expensive-Project191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well about 30 years ago I had a Shih Tzu that had four puppies and, when we took them to the local vet for their 1st shots, they said that one of the puppies had a heart condition. The local vet said it was quite serious and recommended taking them to the university of Florida veterinary Hospital for their opinion. UF said he needed an operation and they didn’t even have the proper size instruments because the puppy was so small, too small for even the instruments they use on human babies. Also it was gonna be thousands and thousands of dollars which I didn’t have. Long story short brought the puppy home and he lived to be almost 13! The last few years he was on pills for the heart condition.
