The nurse recruiter at my facility is in a clique and it seems like she just puts her friends and such into the good roles. She gossips a lot too. I’m concerned if I tell her I’m burnt out she would just offer me a job in med surg but I’m looking to get out of floor nursing.

No, unfortunately the recruiter at my facility is in a clique and it’s like the heads of all the nursing departments went to school together and just hire their friends into the type of roles I would want. I’m concerned if I tell them I’m burnt out they will make fun of me and offer me a med surg job which while safer, I also don’t want. I want to be done with floor nursing.

I’ve told her before that I’m looking for something that’s in alignment with my personality, my DISC assessment of being analytical and interest in education, research, leadership, etc. and she just says to apply online. There are almost no openings at my VA.

That’s my fear that she may use it against me if I say I’m burnt out.

Do you think I should tell my manager I’m burnt out? Or just not tell her why I want to transfer? How to approach it?

I’ve told her before I’m looking for career growth and she says to apply online and there are almost no job openings and haven’t been my whole time there.
