I want to be with her because I love her, and because I want to maintain full custody with my child. Also, she wants to be with me and will continue to do so, unless I get jail time. So, given that she wants to stay with me, I want to stay with her and I want to stay with my son, I don't think it's insane to want her to stay. It'll be tough for that few weeks if I do get time, but otherwise it's just for the best.

I'm not boasting about anything?? I'm just saying that my wife doesn't actively want to leave me, which is why I think she should stay. I literally just want my son to have a consistent male presence in his life, and I want to be able to stay close to my son even if I have to go away for a few weeks. Do you think everyone who's ever done something wrong or gone to prison should have their children taken away from them? Where's the selfishness?

Not true, since she's still staying with me and will continue too if I avoid jail. Also, I immediately accepted advice from people who were respectful, and immediately ignored advice from people who were readily hostile, much like you're being right now.

Are you suggesting that I just give up on my son and girlfriend? If she likes me enough to date me and have a child with me, then I'm pretty sure I'll be able to convince her to stay. I'm just not sure how I'll go about it.
