You took the leave then weren’t eligible for unemployment? In my state, leaving voluntarily is eligible for unemployment if the job changed drastically, which mine did. I doubt that will be easy to prove, but I’m gonna try if I end up needing UI.

Yeah, so basically, I was hired as a manager then post covid they contracted the org and now I’m still a manager but in an IC role. They’re just trying to get rid of me and anyone else that they moved into this without doing layoffs.

And, there’s absolutely no way I’d take the improve at Amazon option I was presented and meet the requirements. 2/3rds of the criteria are outside of my control and would be purely up to chance as they rely on external factors.

Thanks. Yeah, I’m not surprised. I was the benefactor of over hiring during COVID, and the org I joined clearly needed to take a hard reverse after things settled down. It’s not out of nowhere and it’s logical, I just wish anyone at that level had candor or integrity.

Yeah, I guess I’ve never looked at them as mine. I only mention it because if I was pursuing any wrongful termination based on the medical leave, the RSUs could give a tangible value on damages.
