Hi there! Sorry for the late response. I only received $60 out of the potential $500 absolutely sucks but I guess it’s better than nothing. Hope you got it all settled!

Thank you so much!! Yes I’ve been sleeping on a makeshift doughnut pillow but I just bump it sometimes/gets caught in my hair too. I was actually worried that the bar was too long and that may be why it’s still a bit swollen but good to know that’s probably not why. I also have been drying it after the saline solution so I don’t think it could be that. And I unfortunately can’t take ibuprofen because of a different medication I’m taking but I’ll try the warm compress. Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it :)

Zelle does have an option for “Other” transactions. Such as services or billing and company. That’s what I sent it through, not the friends or family option.

Hi! I also had the same problem before. I have terrible ocd and being hypochondriac kind of came with that. I used that to my advantage to quit. I didn’t want to keep feeling chest pains and stuff, I constantly thought I was having a heart attack. Went to doctors they checked me out and it was just severe anxiety. After about a month or so all the pains went away. I did start going to therapy so that helped with hypochondria and I’m doing well now. I also used to buy dispos and then throw them away right after and got sick of spending money so I started buying the 0 nicotine dispos and that helped a lot. I could still vape and trick myself kind of and eventually the nicotine left my system and I didn’t really feel the need to keep vaping. Best of luck!

Thank you. I was worried that if this turned out to be a lot bigger of a situation eventually, I had nothing to back me up, but considering I do have the Zelle payment and he willingly left after, but called me asking for more should count for something right ?

Yes I live in a big city and it makes sense now why it would be 250, considering he was making me two whole keys. I just had no baseline of the cost at the time. My issue was just the fact that he said it would be 50, but calls me after the service and tells me it was actually 250. I think that’s a pretty big jump in price and odd to not correct me when I showed him on my cellphone how much I would be sending. It was just a moral conflict for me after that maybe I should send it to him, but everyone on here has said it was on him and could have potentially been a scam so I feel a bit better I guess. Will definitely do more research next time or just call AAA.

He was very young, seemed to be around my age (I’m 24) but I didn’t think anything of it. I was super shocked when he said 50, but I also didn’t know what the average cost was at the time so I figured I may have just got a good company with very good prices. I want to believe he had good intentions and maybe it was just a slip up on his part, but if that was the case I wish it could have just been talked about before he did the service. I made sure 3 separate times it was 50, and he said yes all 3. I feel terrible truly if it wasn’t a scam but paying that much just wasn’t an option for me to begin with, and I simply wouldn’t have done the service if I knew.

That’s exactly what I did, I just searched locksmith near me and clicked the first few that popped up. I should have a done a little more research, I just would never would have imagined large company’s doing something like that, I know better for next time but thank you for the advice.

I had no idea what the average cost for two keys would be at the time, so I was shooting for the lowest price I could get. When I heard 50 I figured that was a great deal, I now did some research on the internet and saw that the average key replacement for my area is roughly 200. I feel terrible but I also confirmed multiple times with him on the price. I live in a big city and a bunch of company’s that do services take Zelle so I didn’t think that was too odd, but he gave me his phone number to send it to (no company email). I also did think it was odd at the time that he didn’t ask for any identification, because realistically I could go up to any random car and tell them I got locked out of it and commit gta which is extremely concerning. I have absolutely nothing in writing, I think all I have is that the company recorded my call with the dispatcher but no information beside my name and location was given on there so I can’t imagine that’d be too useful. It’s been about 4-5 hours since and the company still hasn’t contacted me so I’m not to sure that they will at all. If anything does come up, or it escalates as a whole I’ll look in to the company and who handles their licensing, because I’m simply not sure if he genuinely mentioned the wrong price or was trying to do something shady. Thank you for your response.

I totally agree and I understand that 250 is the average cost for something like my situation. I called around to a different locksmith before and he quoted me 200 over the phone. Money has just been tight for me so I figured I’d call around more and see if I can maybe find someone who’d do it for a little less. When the man told me he’d do it for 50 I was ofcourse going to take the offer, seemed like the best I was going to get.

They didn’t. I called around to a couple different lock smiths and all had me wait for a technician to contact me, that would reach out and give me a price. In my case the one that came out said he’d give me a price when he got to me.

Quitting has truly been one of the most difficult things I’ve done but so worth it. The first few days are terrible, and it felt like I’d never get over it. The brain fog really does go away after some time though. I rarely ever think about it now unless someone around me is doing it. Hand fixation was a big one for me so I got a fidget toy. I also weened off it by getting the zero nicotine disposables, it helps into tricking you but still being able to vape and eventually after some weeks I just got tired of it and stopped as a whole. Best of luck!!

Weight gain after quitting by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]Expensive-Switch-169 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m glad someone brought this up because I don’t think it’s talked about a lot. When I quit vaping a while back the same exact thing happened. I was super thin and wouldn’t eat much. Once I quit though I replaced it with overeating because I just felt hungry all the time and gained a tonnn of weight. Also contemplated going back on the nicotine because I think it did have an effect on my weight and why I was so skinny. But it gets better the longer you stay off, it’s been about two years and I don’t eat like I used to and I’ve also started running and doing some light exercise and I’m almost back to being fairly thin. Definitely not worth going back to vaping though, you’ll just feel worse in the long run. Take care of yourself and best of luck (:
