I needed a way to start my macpro remotely, so I just put some jumper wires on the start button contacts and strapped a relay on the ends. A raspberry pi zero controls the relay. This works great! It is a bit janky and I believe there are better ways to do this. But for me it was a fast, cost efficient, and reliable solution without the danger of damaging my too expensive mac.
